Well,your vehicle has invaded their territory.So they have to mark it.Since the wheels are what they can reach,that's what gets it.Be glad you only get goosed,and not pee'd on !

As to why tire chewing,I don't know that one.

the rubber in the tires hold scents really well for dogs and cats. When I had my motorcycle, I woould make a VERY strong cayenne pepper spray,, and spary the tires with that, One whiff and the animal would back off.

I don't know why dogs like tires, but your post reminded me of what my husband said when a puppy we used to have started lifting his leg. He said, "oh, look, he's going through pupperty." And then when our used to have canary started to sing, I said Oh, he's going through pubertweet.:~}

Reminds me of another question: Why do dogs chase vehicles? For the same reason men chase women they have no intention of marrying. And yes, I've chased a lot of cars.

Ken-Ever catch any? Cars,I mean,of course.

Sharon:

No, if they slow down enough to be caught it isn't fun anymore. Remember, I am a life-long bachelor who has absolutely no plans to ever marry.

Ken,

Have you heard the joke about the woman who was complaining to her lady friend that her husband was chasing other women? Her friend told her "Dear, don't worry about it. My dog chases cars and he can't even drive..." Ha Ha.
