lustre hmmmm it depends where you're coming from. everybody yearns for the 70's and 80's - terraces, crap pitches, a.g.r.o. falling attendances etc.- not that good when you think about it.

comparing today with the so called golden age 93-97 (coincidentally the time when the toon were good) and yes the game now is too predictable - manu win everybody else underachieves-, too many euro games, same teams getting promoted and relegated. yes football needs to reinvent itself to an extent.

cut the league to 16 teams and instal a prem div 2. limit the number of non euro players. implement a pan european salary cap. trim the champs league but implement a euro profit sharing scheme. get rid of the uefa cup. same with the worthless cup. ban the long ball and outlaw any player taller than 6'3". 2 referees one in each half of the field. relegate the hackems. ok i'll stop.
