Any comments on Mediaphone video capture cards? Who makes this card? I can not find any information about this card. This is a card only cost $12-$20 to get it. Thanks!

I would not consider buying a capture card made for video conference. Spend the extra dollars No new $12.00 - $20.00 card will give you vcd quality, that's for sure. Perhaps RealVideo quality set at 28.8, we all know how bad that is. If cash is tight check ebay or yahoo auctions for a used GOOD card.

Thanks! What else card you think are the easonable card for making VCD and S-VCD? For a beginner, this is a first step I don't know where to go. Thanks again!

I have one of these cards; the capture quality is pretty good; subjectively it looked better (sharper) than with a Bt848 card (Hauppage WinTV). It has composite and SVideo inputs. The main problem is there are only Windows 95 drivers for this card.

It may be an excellent choice for video conferencing (or chatting), since it has a DSP chip on board which should help reduce echo and feedback when talking.
