Claudio Ranierri

Probably spelt his name wrong, (nothing new there then).

The thing is how can you manage through a translator? OK so half the team speak Italian but what must the others at Chelsea think of him?

The same goes for foreign players trying to get instructions from English managers, Steph pointed out that some of ours still can't spak the lingo. They should be put on a crash course, they have to learn the Language straight away (players and managers) or they are bound to fail.

They should be put on a crash course - oh, you mean like Andy Griffin?

To pick up your point, I agree. It seems strange that a coach can speak no English and manage an EPL team. Or is that just a front for the cameras? Perhaps he speako de lingo not very well-ly but can make himself understood? Seems hard to believe tho. IMHO, it's not only the language either, as TDO proved at Toon. He could speak great English (better than many natives!) but couldn't relate to his club.

Conversely, perhaps Ranieri can relate to his club? Probably a lot more in common between him and Chewsee and TDO and Newcastle.

Actually, it's not the first team players that are the worry at CFC. I feel sorry (well, no I don't) for the kids coming thru the ranks. How the hell can they impress the manager off the pitch?

Still, we know what's best. A Geordie for a Geordie team. Long live YBR.

I think you got it right Screach, I believe that Claudio can speak a little English, however he finds it more comfortable to answer questions in Italian. It may also stop the reporters asking stupid questions as they get fed up during the translating.

Most of the questions I have seen him answer have been asked in English and answered in Italian!

I think Chelsea have cocked up spectacularly. But I may be wrong.

Whenever he is interviewed on MOTD he always has an interpruter next to him, but of course they edit out the translation.

Don't worry too much on it anyway, chances are the wankerman will have him sacked by the end of the month.......and that is only three days away.

If he can blow out baldy for no apparent reason, I'm sure he can find many reasons to get rid of this one.

I'm rubbing my hands in glee (no not that you dirty lot!), I reckon Chelsea have scored a huge own goal and I'm loving it....there's already talk of sacking him if this slide continues....hahaha I'd just love it if they changed manager again this season.

How Vialli must be enjoying this....

"A Geordie for a Geordie team. Long live YBR".

It's also worth remembering that this particular Geordie speaks fluent Spanish - hence his rapport with Solano, Cordone, Acuna, Gavilan and Bassedas.
It might also account for why Axel apparently sees no need to learn English.

¿Que?

¿Yo el señor afligido es. yo no entiendo lo que usted está diciendo. Quién este Geordie es?

He should leave before his players do. I'm loving it too. I've disliked Chelsea for some time now. How long has Wise been there?

meanwhile, back on the thread title:

Ray Wilkins and Graham Rix have been dismissed by Chelsea in a major shake-up of the coaching staff by boss Claudio Ranieri. Chelsea are currently 14th in the Premiership and Ranieri appears keen to stamp more authority on the running of the team.

Goalkeeping coach Eddie Niedzwecki and fitness coach Antonio Pintus are staying but have been given slightly different roles.

Ranieri's decision to make changes is not so surprising given the fact that he brought in three of his own backroom staff.

The club's official website stated: "Those roles have recently become increasingly peripheral and it's been decided it would be best for all parties if they went their separate ways.

"Their contracts were up in the summer and it's been agreed that they can leave now, paid up in full, to pursue other interests."

I thought it was Wilkins that was translating and passing on instructions to the players. Oh well... ho hum... Who cares?

If his Italian was anything like his English they probably got fed up with being told that they were either:

a) t'riffic

or

b) A bit naive at the back there, son.

Guess that means we can't sing the Graham Rix song anymore. ;-)
