Could Poe have had a daughter?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : The Work of Edgar Allan Poe : One Thread

I noticed in The Raven and in Lenore, Lenore is mentioned somewhat frequently. Could it be possible that Lenore was actually Lenore Poe? Is is somehow fathomable that Poe had a daughter that no one knew about. I am posing this question because in Lenore it seems like a father is writing to the suitors of his now-dead daughter. I need some quick feedback if possible.

I believe that Edgar Allan Poe did not have a daughter. In most of his poetry the persons he speaks of are his previous loves and his wife Virginia Clemm. There is no possible way that E.A.P. could have had a daughter because he only married Virginia and she died of Tuberculosis before she could bear any children.....and throughout his life there are no signs of Edgar ever having a physical relationship with anyone else besides virginia.

Er... well in his biography it says that he married his 13 year old cousin who then died of some disease so he wrote a poem about her called lenore.

Lenore is not E.A.P daughter because in my literature book at school in the section about the author it says lenore the one he speaks about in 'the raven" it was one of his former wifes that died...
