I see both them,and some of you,trying to "out-shout" the other,there is no difference,one is as bad as the other,they are both retards.

If either of these men and their parties had a lick of sense they would NOT have litigated this mess,the one with the higher ground(no lawsuits/lawyers) would have won in the eyes of the public,especially after it's been said and done.The smartest thing would be to concede as soon as possible,but it may be too far gone for that now.

Besides,only an idiot would want the job under these conditions,let the "sucker" have it! Come back in four years and kick ass.

FWIW, Gore didn't carry his home state. Based on that fact, I think he believes that this is his last shot at the presidency because he may worry that he won't have any backers the next time around. The same may hold partly true for W. I doubt the PTB will run him again, although I wouldn't put it past them to run his brother Jeb & Colin Powell next time, if they can bribe CP to do it.

Actually Cap, even if Bush wanted to concede, he would be letting his supporters down and giving us into the hands of someone like Gore. I am glad he's not giving up, and that he didn't give up. And that he's fighting for us.

I'll be damned if I can figure out why Bush should "do the honorable thing" after he has won both vote counts in Florida. I would fight like hell too. He has won the state and the election, that is unless the "Psychic Friends Network" chad soothsayers can find enough Gore "votes" to over turn it.

I don't really see either one of them thinking about the good of the country or about "we the people".

1.Bush's double standard about hand recounts in Texas but not Florida.

2.Gore's immediate threat and continuing use of the courts to win the election,Bush also falls into this abyss with his appeals to the courts.

If Bush would have just stayed out of the litigating end of it I could have said he had the country's best interest at heart.But that was not to be,as he went up the ladder from local to state to federal court system trying to gain a foothold.Not one of these men were able to spot the high road and to me this is discouraging.

Cin,I will agree that Bush is the lessor of the evils,and yes Carlos, that is Bush's saving grace,at least he has spent some considerable time in the private sector and has not fed for allmost a lifetime at the public trough.

This brings me back to the "lessor of the evils" quagmire.I cannot think like that,let alone vote like that or support someone on that basis.To me it's tantamount to being asked wheather I'd rather be stabbed with a 4 inch knife or a 6 inch knife,burned at the stake or drawn and quartered.

I suppose this goes back to the philosophical reason why I am not a Democrat or a Republican,in good conscious I cannot choose between the lessor of the two evils.

Is a little integrity too much to ask for? Is the hope for a virtuous statesman outdated? Am I a true pollyanna?Mayhaps.

I see your point too Unc,but wouldn't Bush be in exactly the same position if he hadn't turned loose the lawyer dogs? He would still be ahead,he still would have won all the counts and recounts,but,he would not have sullied himself in the process.They(Bush) drug themselves down to that level and IMHO it was never nessasary.
