People never learn (was Read the Archived Posts)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

People seem to ask the same questions over and over again about VCD's. "How do you make a VCD out of a VHS tape", "How do I burn a VCD with such and such program, "How do I get my burned VCD to work with my DVD player", etc, etc.

One thing history has taught us that no matter how many times you try to lead a horse to water you cant make him drink it. Basically, not the average person is not smart enough to take the iniciative to search for already archived information, so the easiest thing for them to do is to ask people to hold thier hand while someone tells them how to do it over and over.

Quite simply, the same questions keep getting asked over and over again. If only this message board had a search feature and different layout like alot of the other message boards do. In conclusion, the solution is simple: change message boards to something much more idiot friendly.

Please make one and I will direct all the idiots your way. ;) There are other boards for VCD on the internet. Most of which are just plastered with banner adds. (A REAL TURN OFF!!!!!!!) >I do understand what you are saying. But a search engine is not the answer. I believe it is simply because people are lazy. Why read a few posts to find an answer when you can just make a new one and have someone answer it for you. (another answer could be that they are just dumb as dirt.) I have spent hours and hours reading allmost EVERY POST. When I encounteed problems I allready knew the answer from reading it here. Almost every problem you would have has been answered here. Just READ READ READ READ.... ;)

Victor

Even to posting the same content as your posting, maybe you should have read the previous ones as well, and simply added the comment to re activate the old posting - then again, maybe you looked and could not find any, maynot even exist in the archives now, they seem to have a short life???????????

Some of us have different equipment and program so the answer is likely to be different. Just trial and error until you achieve it. Then we can discuss the difference.
