Jpeg file to svcd with 5.0 problem

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I have Nero 5.0 and tried to convert some jpeg pictures to svcd format.Following program instruction everything goes fine but windows media player does not play burned cd.Tried both CD-R and CD-RW.Nero asks to drag files in to newly opened compilation.Compilation has 3 windows, top section has some (i think 4) diffrent folders.bottom half is blank.I dragged files in to bottom half and burned cd.CD does not play on computer or DVD player. Can not see any windows media player format files on cd.Any suggestion is greatly appriciated.

First question: have you tried to make a slide show to vcd format? Did that work? In my case that works fine (I use Nero 5 too). When I tried to make a slide show to Svcd only the first picture would show after which it would freeze. I have not yet figured out how to remedy this. I played back on a DVD-player (Pioneer 525), did not try WMP. Friendly greetings, Eppo R. Kooi.

1) Windows media player does NOT see .dat by default.
Windows media player would not be used to watch that type of slide show anyway.
2) Have you tested your dvd player to make sure it can read cdr-cdrw?
ALOT of them CAN NOT.
See what others have said about your dvd player at www.vcdhelper.com before testing for yourself.
