XVCD Ligos Plugin & Flask

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I want to use Flask and the Ligos pulgin for Premiere to create XVCDs. The Ligos plugin offers mpeg1, mpeg2, and VCD options for encoding. However the VCD option doesn't provide a way to adjust bitrates. Using the mpeg1 option allows for higher bitrates but does not produce a playable XVCD on my DVD player(jerky video/audio). I have produced XVCD(1900kb) using Panasonic encoder that plays just fine on my DVD player. I tried to produce a standard VCD, with Ligos, selecting mpeg1 option but leaving all other settings to comply with the VCD option. The result was again a playble VCD with jerky video and audio. Also, I have produced a standard VCD from Ligos that plays just fine only when the VCD option is selected.

I would like to use the Ligos plugin since it is a fast encoder.

If anyone else has had this problem or can confirm that it is a limitation in Ligos, please let me know.

Thanks, JD

LIGOS has way 2 many limitations. It works fine for the beginer.
Change to tmpgenc or panasonic
tmpgenc is the champ with the new panasonic 2.51 right behind.>BR> The new panasonic 2.51 standalone lets you crop, add black, mask, resize. (They finally added what everyone was begging for. Quality is just a bit better with tmpgenc though, with the ability for more twaeking. Results of testing can be found at www.vcdhelper.com
