"The legislature's job is to write law. It's the executive branch's job to interpret law."

Let's see: Gore is trying to get a court to force Miami-Dade to resume their hand recounts. Dubya is trying to get The Supreme Court to stop all the hand recounts (while trying to figure out what the executive branch does). Pat Buchanan and Ralph Nader are still in a snit because they're not being invited to all The Best Parties. Nobody's heard much of anything from Harry Browne. And Pat Paulsen is still dead. I want my vote back.

I can hear Gore now. Now gov Bush... Let me explain the branches of the gov and their purposes (head then tilts to other side)... The legislative arm of the gov (head bobs down, eyes move up) makes the laws...

Egg on Bush's face.

CNN Says Bush to Appeal to U.S. Supreme Court

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - CNN television said on Wednesday that the Bush campaign will lodge an appeal with the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn a Florida high court decision allowing hand recounted votes to be included in the final tally of presidential ballots in Florida.

"George W. Bush is authorizing his lawyers to file an appeal with the U.S. Supreme Court in an effort to shut down all hand recounts of Florida ballots," said CNN.

On Tuesday, Florida's Supreme Court boosted the hopes of Democrat Al Gore by ruling that a hand recount of votes in three heavily Democratic counties could be included in the final tally.

Republican rival Bush has a slim 930-vote lead in official results which recounts could imperil. The outcome of the Florida vote is expected to determine who will be the 43rd president of the United States.
