I can't understand why Leeds would pay Wham £18M for Ferdinand when they could probably pick up Marcelino for no more than £5M? ;-)

West Ham must be laughing their tits off at this one. They've probably got another Rio playing for the reserves and he will slot straight into the team and they'll finish in the top eight, job done.

How is it that West Ham NEVER buy any players, have shit crowds, but are now in a better position than we are to buy players. £18million to buy players. Bitter? Yes.

Harry "carboot" Redknapp is sniffing around Sir Les trying to get him on a Bosman. He has no shame - he's got £18m in his back pocket and he's still shopping at the Blue Peter bring and buy sale.

Now if they were to spend 1% of that on making the wait at Upton Park tube more bearable (say cover for when it [always] pisses it down)...

Harry Redknapp won't be given anything near that £18 mill for new players. Aren't they in the process of construction work at Upton Park. They should re-name a stand after Rio, because his money will end up paying for it.

Chelsea are reported to be after Kanoute if they sell Flo so that's another £8 million apparently. Good time to sell really.

What confuses me is why are clubs like Chelsea, Rangers and Leeds still splashing the cash when they could get players for knockdown prices when the transfer system is sorted out?

Re the queue for the tube at West Ham....the trick is to effectively sprint in the wrong direction. Head straight for the station and you end up doubling back for half a mile to get around the barricades.....

Well, if the transfer system goes pop, they'll have more competition. Leeds can splash out on him now or wait till there's no fees and compete with - who knows - Man U (not that they'll need him when they get Campbell), Chelse, Real M, Barca etc etc. On the other hand, I suppose Rio may be able to walk away from Leeds in a year or two anyway. IMHO he's not worth £18m whether or not the transfer system goes. Certainly a very good defender - he basically kept us at bay single-handedly the other week - but this 'he's not quite the finished article yet' thing is wearing a bit thin. Surely he should be by now? By that reckoning, Aaron must be worth nigh on £10m by now.

My Hammers supporting mate, says Rio hasn't improved in the last two seasons and has been resting on his laurels too much, he said a couple of weeks ago that he'd be glad to sell him for £10 million.

Hughes must be worth at least 5-6 million.

Rio Ferdinand is not worth £18 never mind £18m. Overated to extent of Wes 'Mind The Hair' Brown. See him get totally skinned vs that Greek side yesterday? England player my arse.
