Phoenix TV Anchor Gets Handcuffed at Scottsdale Bar

2000

A well-known television anchor in Phoenix got into some trouble this weekend at a Scottsdale bar. Eventually, the police had to get involved and she was handcuffed.

KTVK-TV 3 anchor Liz Habib has been told not to come back to a Scottsdale bar because of what happened early Sunday morning. She was escorted out, questioned by police, handcuffed and then released.

Habib tried to get into Dos Gringo's in Scottsdale about 12:15 Sunday morning According to the police report she had left her identification at home. After the doorman refused to let her in without it, she marched past him into the bar.

A manager and security asked her to leave. She refused. A man who was in the bar that night saw what happened. “She expected treatment and when they told her to leave and she didn't leave police did their job, regardless of who she was," said the man who did not wish to be identified.

Police were called. An officer claims Habib had a strong odor of an intoxicating beverage and red, bloodshot, watery eyes. The officer said she made these comments: "Get your hands off me. I am going to sue you all. You guys are so going down. You don't know who you are talking with.""

Another officer claims she said: “Get your f____ hands off of me. I don't have to tell you anything. F___ you. I am f___ing leaving."

At some point Sunday morning, Habib and two officers end up in the street in front of the bar. She was still using profanities and ignoring verbal commands, so they handcuffed her.

According to the report, Habib said, "They have totally degraded me in front of everyone. They don't know who I am. I could lose my job over this.”

She went on, “All the people at the bar cheered when they put the cuffs on me. And I didn't do anything wrong."

The police report of Bush's DUI arrest clearly stated that W was calm and polite to the officer who arrested him.

Hawk, you are such an asshole, it's no wonder you hide behind an alias for each post.
