Gullit's last game

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Much was said in the media last week of Gullit's last game saying he had dropped Shearer & Ferguson for the game only to play young Paul Robinson. Am I wrong but hadn't Shearer been suspended for the previous match & Ferguson was injured? As I remember it they weren't dropped but rather Robinson was retained.

Well Dave, that's one way to look at it. Yes, Shearer had been suspended (incorrectly, due to that t0%%er Uriah Heep-of-Sh1te - whatever happened to him, eh?). Anyway, I'd wager that in evey other game he has been fit, Shearer has been an automatic choice. Therefore, it's reasonable to assume TDO dropped him, along with a huge b0110ck.

Shame YBR didn't so the same on Saturday - we might have scored the penalty. ;-)

PS. I'm still waiting for YBR to resign. Is he waiting for FS to return?

As I recall, Shearer was perfectly fit as was Duncan "you don't buy a big striker" Ferguson, who appeared on the pitch before Al (am I right?).

Football drama at its best (despite the scoreline). You never see that in Dream Team.

Walking out of the Gallowgate, a few lads were saying "That's Robson sacked, then". No one on here seems to be entertaining that sort of thought but I hope there isn't a groundswell of opinion growing against him in the Toon. Off the point slughtly but as the crwods disgorged from the ground these lads were selling Shearer posters for a pound. I am frankly stunned that no one nutted them.

Bliddy hell Dougal - I've regularly left the ground. Many a time I've staggered from the ground. I've even been lifted from the ground (anyone who left the Gallowgate at 'rush hour' will know what I mean by that). But I'm canny sure I've never been "disgorged from the ground" !!

Ah Loony. You've missed one of life's little pleasures there then. There's nowt like a good disgorging to cleanse you. You wanna try it sometime. Mind - be careful, rumours are that it can lead to floods.

Call me old-fashioned Screach but I've always had a bit of a phobia about someone else 'cleansing' me. Especially if they're walking my way clutching some hose pipe and asking me to bend doon. Apparently The Queen of Hearts used to swear by it mind so each to their own.
