SthsVCD / Herosoft2000 sVCD Player

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I am looking for a registered version of the SthsVCD 5.5 player or the Herosoft2000 player. The copy I have times out with a message "The time is over. Please Get One Good Version!" I have scoured the web to try and buy a copy of this software and I cannot find it anywhere. If anyone has a link to a distributor of the registered version this software, I am willing to negotiate compensation for this information.

Please do not send links to the Herosoft Website. They have taken down their english pages and have not responded to any of my emails.

Thanks for any help you can give me. This software could save my company.

You can use the same program just use datecrack with it. Unfortunately if the program is already giving the expiration message. You have to re-install windows completely or install it on another machine. When I find a better answer I will let you know. Anyway PowerDVD has no problems playing any file format. But it doesn't automatically recognize the SVCD disks you have to switch to file mode and select files in order for it to work.

Herosoft DVD player is $35. You may BUY it here: http://www.heroshare.com/products/DVDPlayer.php

This page is in english, albeit very broken english. If you click on the "buy" button it complains about an improper discount code, just ignore it and click "purchase at regular price."

If you want a freeware alternative that plays almost anything, including flash and MOV/RAM streams (with the proper plugins,) try "Media Player Classic."
