What is the Mpeg - 1 format that Nero 5.0 recognises ?

Hi

I have gotten a copy of Nero 5.031 recently. When I started to drag the mpg files onto Nero program, it displays ( an example )

The file ABC.mpg is invalid. need MPEG -1 which was encoded for Video-CD: audio: 44.1kHz ; stereo : 224kBit/s video: 352x240/29.97Hz or 352x240/23.976Hz or 352x288/25Hz

Analysis of the file found - stream encoding which is invalid for a Video CD - video : 29.97 frames/second, 352x240 pixels - audio : 44100 Hz, 2 channels You are creating a Video CD V2.0 ( CDI player ) compliant CD but the MPEG file is not suitable for such a disc. Continue by turning of V2.0 conformance ?

Y/N

There are some files that Nero accepts and will display the mpg duration - these files play fine on the TV. However if I write the unrecognised mpg-1 files I will only see a blank screen on the TV.

The problem is what exactly is the Mpg-1 setting that Nero wants, and how can i convert one that is not recognised to one that is ? I have programs such as VirtualDub 1.3c and TMPEGENC but i don't know how to use them to convert the mpg files.

Your file contains 2 channel sound instead of stereo, welcome to an old club! You do not say what the source of your MPEG file is or from where? Usually if you turn off conformance the file burns OK and plays on the DVD player - more information required.
