canon 650

I have found a eos 650 for 150.00 I don`t know anything about the canon 650. Is this a good deal or a pass up. It has a 35-70 lens and a speedlight flash with it. Is it to old.

The 620 and 650 were the first canon auto focus cameras. The auto focusing was somewhat slow and erratic. They often sell on internet auctions for $100-140 if they are in good condition. The 35-70 is probably worth another $50 and the Speedlite value depends on the model. I'd give the 160 or 200 about $40-50 and the 300EZ $75. If it's a 420 or 430 we're talkin' real money.

Anyway, yeah it's worth it if the autofocusing speed is enough for you. If you decide you don't want it after a while, put it on Ebay and make a few dollars.

The one thing to check is if there is any oil (usually dried) on the shutter blades. There is often a very little on the upper left corner as they get older, but if it looks like it has spread very far you might want to pass up this deal.
