I have a Frank Hohenberger photo of Southern locomotive 751 in front of the Birdseye Indiana station in 1933. I was wondering if anyone had any information on either the station or 751 or Southern's Indiana lines? Thanks. The photo is available online and Indiana University will sell prints of it, enter http://www.dlib.indiana.edu/collections/lilly/hohenberger/ to view the collection. The Southern photo is located in 4x5 box 14, item 7.

haven't seen that one but I have a question about the streamlines I have photos of 1380 but nothing on 1381 was it a streamline or just a oddball #?

I believe 751 was a Ks class Consolidation probably built somewhere between 1904 and 1905. I've seen a picture of two Ks class consols working up a hill near New Albany in David P. Morgan's book Locomotive 4501, but that's all I really know. As for the Second Question, the 1380 was the only streamlined steam on the Southern. It was streamlined for the Tennesean by the Spencer Division Crew. 1381 wasn't a oddball, it just wasn't streamlined. If you go to the Smithsonian's History Museum, You can see the 1381's sister, the 1401.
