Colloidial Silver for Animals?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I was wondering if anyone uses colloidial silver instead of antibiotics for their animals if they become ill? Or if you use it yourself, what are the differences in recovery time as opposed to using antibiotics? I try not to use antibiotics but have had to resort to them occasionally for infections, or wound treatment, but it seems that my vet prescribes antibiotics for literally everything except worms.

Thanks for your replies!

I just "inherited" a poorly neglected lop rabbit. One eye was totally gone when I got him, and the other was terribly infected. I put colloidial silver in the good eye for several days (2-3 times a day) and the eye and his personality improved dramatically! I've also heard of people giving colloidal to their chickens to prevent sickness.

I dumped some colloidal silver in the chicken's water the other day, when we lost one from something unknown, and the others were acting droopy (it was a chilly, damp day). Don't know if it helped--but none of 'em died from it. Thought it might hit whatever might be going around the coop. I have wondered if it would be good for the intestinal infections young calves are so prone to????

I make my own Colloidal Silver, and give it on a regular basis to my chickens, rabbit, dogs and cats. I try to give it to the ducks, too, but they waste so much water, it's hard to tell how much of it they drink and how much they play in. It kills parasites in humans, and I've never found worms in the chickens stools. I take it regulary, and am a strong believer in its benefits. I have never had to use anitbiotics on my animals or myself since I began using CS.

I give it to my dog cat and fish. I also give it to my family including my almost 2 year old daughter. We have not been sick since we started making it with a generator. A friend of mine found colloidial silver generators on e-bay for a fraction of the cost that I spent on mine. Yes I am peeved about that, lol.

My dad's dog has a thing where she is eating her own leg. As soon as I get a report from him on how her leg is doing after colloidial silver I'll let you know. I am very much a believer in it's properties. In addition I am on my way to quitting smoking because it has flushed the toxins out of my body (including nicotene) and I am losing the "need the cigarette" feeling. It's good stuff.

When using silver, it is important to know its strength in parts per million. Most of the commercial brands of silver are way too weak to do the job, and they usually charge a fortune for it anyway. If making your own, it is recommended to use test strips to monitor strength. Good colloidal silver should be from 200 to 250 ppm. Some of the stuff out there is 10!

Although we use other methods of health care besides silver, we havent used antibiotics in our family, or farm, for almost 20 years.

I am new to CS, but I am sold on its effectiveness. My husband cut his finger deeply when a glass fell, and he tried to catch it. CS has healed it,with no infection. I also have ben giving it to Mikey my older dog,and he perked up after 2 days. He has a cyst on his tail that my vet says will never go away,I'M betting on the CS! I will up date soon with progress report.
