I am having great difficulty recruiting a Tier 2 support person to work in Friedricksdorf. I thought, given the wide readership and cosomopolitan nature of this BBS that you might indulge me and allow me to post the Job Specification here. Salary will be around 50,000 pounds p.a. (paid in DM and there are stock options with the job.

Job Spec:

Description:

To ensure the proper functioning of the TANTAU software suite and achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction by efficiently responding to customer requests, resolving product related issues, effectively tracking and communicating open issues to internal / external sources and trend analysis reporting to management.

Responsibilities:

Comply with response, escalation and resolution time standards as is required. Serve as single point of contact for Development Organization on escalated cases. Function as second and final level of support within the direct Customer Support Organization.

Requirements:

The ideal person for this position is a Technical Support professional with a background of both Customer Support and Development. This individual should have an understanding of advanced Customer Support practices, as well as a genuine sense of urgency which will function in a high stress / fast track 24 x 7 World Wide environment.

System Level Experience:

Minimum 3 B 5 years experience working in hybrid environments. Minimum 3 B 5 years experience in system and product support. Previous Operations Experience. System Cluster installation. Configuration management. Layered product installation / de-installation. Experience on one or more of the following platforms (UNIX, SUN, Linux, Tandem, NT).

Application Level Experience:

Demonstrable experience in installing, configuring, managing and trouble-shooting distributed application environments. Application Servers. Object request brokers. Component based technologies. Understanding of programming and design concepts regarding OOP. Strong knowledge of HTML and HTTP concept and usage. Strong knowledge of Java and Java Scripting. Strong knowledge Shell Script programming. TCL a plus. Networking configuration (TCP/IP, DNS and Routing required. Knowledge of WAP, WML and XML a plus (acquirement of knowledge required).
