how does poe treat the subject of transcendentalism...especially through the "sonnet to science"

I am writing a paper on american transcendentalism and was wondering the same thing. It is my opinion that Poe doesn't embrace the movement at all. In fact I don't even think he understands it. Looking at the Purloined Letter and "phylosophy of composition" it seems that he is closer to rationalism, very unusual for a poet.
