Adaptec EzCD Creator Deluxe 3.5c error

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I use adobe premiere 5.1 to create avi files from my dv recorder captured using miroDV 300, and convert to MPEG using Xing MPEG encoder 2.2 to convert avi to mpeg format.

When I try to insert more than 1 track using Adaptec EZ CD VCD creator I get the following error message " An MPEG player has not been detected. You will need to install an MPEG player such as MS ActiveMovie to create VCDs."

I can already play MPEG using MS Media player. Also in control panel in windows, in Multimedia, in advanced tab, in the media control devices, there is already 2 Active Movie drivers.

Anyone had this problem before?

HELP!

Thanks

Yup, Adaptec Easy CD Creator 3.5c is not compatible with Xing MPEG Player. If you must use 3.5c you need to uninstall Xing MPEG Player. The Adaptec product sucks. Use Nero or go back to 3.5 or 3.5b which doesn't have this problem. I presume you have Xing MPEG Player installed?

Yes, Easy CD Creator 3.5c & 4.0 is stupid in this sense.

Go to System.ini

Look for the section MCI.

Look for the MPEG driver and make sure it is the mciqtz.drv driver.
