I'm stuck here at work with you'se as well.....am still hoping I can get out early to get to Sting's party tonight but it's looking doubtful....3 points would go an awful long way towards cheering me up though....
-- Anonymous, November 11, 2000
Ah that's better. Columbian Supremo - delicious. So nice, they named it after Tino. Silly me - I bought a bag in the local and didn't check it, so I have to powder it myself before using it. Adds a bit to the time, but still has the right effect. Anybody got any cookies?
-- Anonymous, November 11, 2000
Three pints Gav? I thought you were a heavier drinker than that. Give the owd buga my regards if you get to see him.

Well I thought I would join the holiday spirit, with Josh, Screacher, Pilgrim all gone OS to US, min in NZ, Lonly Tune going to Gods Own and Ireland.
The Guswalds are packing the car and heading off with Grandma tied to the roof! Off to the "Deep South" tomorrow. First stop the scene of my near demise a few weeks ago, hope no one recognises me. I have upgraded my undercover skills. I have packed a heap of checked flannelette? (sp) shirts, all me keks with holes and rips in them and shoes that I do the gardening in. Should see me as a local, although a bit dressed up!
Visit about 40 wineries in 6 or 7 days. Not quite clarkys trip through the battlefields of WWI nor as elegantly written I might add.
I have tied the 2 cats tails together and strung them over a rafter, that should see them safe for the week.
I know why Mrs gus is speaking to you Gav, she is not best pleased. All the best events during the wine festival are on today tomorrow and next weekend. We will be back here on Friday evening. She saw the fixture list and that glazed look came over her face fractions of seconds before the steam came out of her ears and a tirade out her mouth!

-- Anonymous, November 11, 2000
Screach, sounds like we are more than holding our own, couple of scares, but other than that, we're looking solid. Just need a couple of ideas up front and we'll be flying.
-- Anonymous, November 11, 2000
war of attrition in midfield, much as we expected. Neither side getting on top and no clear chances so far...

-- Anonymous, November 11, 2000
Great. All we need is Bassedas to wind up crocked again with the beating he's getting from Lily Savage.Ref fails to call another foul. This time Taggart on Dyer.
-- Anonymous, November 11, 2000
AND WE WILL DRINK, WHEREVER WE MAY BE...
-- Anonymous, November 11, 2000
Howay lads. One more push (as the actress said to the bishops)
-- Anonymous, November 11, 2000
Trouble with having a bad ref is the players are likely to take matters into their own hands in the second half. I think we can expect some clattering challenges going in!!!!!(:o|

-- Anonymous, November 11, 2000
I think you're right gus. Might as well not have a ref if things are as bad as Metro makes out. I'll just be happy if all our players leave this game with no new injuries.
-- Anonymous, November 11, 2000
Any colour you like??
-- Anonymous, November 11, 2000
Hi Gang. Must be HT is it? Sky TV reckoned YKD was MOTM over the first 30 mins - did the webcast or Metro suggest the same?
-- Anonymous, November 11, 2000
Half time yet???
-- Anonymous, November 11, 2000
IT'S......MIN'S HLAF TIME ENTERTAINMENT.....
Once upon a time there was a shepherd looking after his sheep on the edge of a deserted road. Suddenly a brand new Jeep Cherokee screeches to a halt next to him.B The driver, a young man dressed in a Savile Row suit, hand-made shoes, Ray-Ban sun-glasses, Patek-Phillipe wrist-watch, a Jermyn Street shirt & Gucci tie gets out and asks theshepherd, "If I guess how many sheep you have, will you give me one of them?" > The shepherd looks at the young man, then looks at the grazing sheep and replies, "Okay." > The young man parks the car, connects the notebook and the mobile-fax,B enters a NASA website, scans the ground using his GPS, opens a database and 60 excel tables filled with logarithms, then prints out a 150-page report on his high-tech mini-printer. He turns to the shepherdB and says,B "You have exactly 1586 sheep here." > The shepherd answers,B "That's correct, you can have your sheep." > >The young man takes an animal and puts it in the back of his jeep. > >The shepherd looks at him and asks, "If I guess your profession, will you >return my animal to me?" > >The young man answers,B "Yes, why not?" > >The shepherd says,B "You are a consultant." > >B "How did you know?" asks the young man. > >B "Very simple," answers the shepherd.B "First, you came here without being >asked. >Second, you charged me aB fee to tell me something I already knew. Third, >you don't understand anything about my business. > >Now, can I have my dog back?"
-- Anonymous, November 11, 2000
Half Time...going for a beer or six.Quick first half for Screach. Midfield battle for the most part, sounds like Lee, Bassedas and Acuna working well, Speed doing his job. He had a "Welsh" word with Savage early on after a foul on Bassedas, good for him. Defence looks solid. Dyer started as the invisible man but has really come on as the game progresses. Shearer is Shearer, Target man, hold up man, seems to be alone for the first half. All in all, a solid performane, Domi fell asleep a couple of times. Really missing Nobby on the right, but my feeling is we will do OK today, still stand by my 2-0 Toon prediction.
-- Anonymous, November 11, 2000

Yeah - especially if we win too. Close the gap at the top ;-))
-- Anonymous, November 11, 2000
Just for once, I hope the Smogs win. Can't have Newton Heath getting too far ahead.

Right - I'm back for the action. Just been talkin' to SBA. Told her to get her @ss round here sharpish.
-- Anonymous, November 11, 2000
I think Lee should come off, Dyer to RMF and Cordone up front.
-- Anonymous, November 11, 2000
Bit early for changes Gus??
-- Anonymous, November 11, 2000
hmmm....think it'll probably be Bassedas for Cordone but i think we need more, er, 'punch' upfront...

WHEW!! 1-1 FT another point for us. Ref never called for stoppage time. We're lucky to get out of this farce with no injuries and a point.
-- Anonymous, November 11, 2000
Well I don`t see that ref getting much work, not after that performance. Bye-bye folks - enjoy the rest of the weekend! (:o)
-- Anonymous, November 11, 2000
Phhhheeeeeeeewwwwww...
-- Anonymous, November 11, 2000
That's it...1-1. I suppose one point is better than none. Referee sounded absolutely clueless.. Where do they find these guys.

Goodnight everyone, see you in a week.
-- Anonymous, November 11, 2000
Great news - mackems 2-2 with 2 minutes to go.
-- Anonymous, November 11, 2000
Decent result, good fight back and we're still top of the mackems. Roll on next week. Not sure about this system we've adopted, time to spring a surprise on the mackems and go back to 4-4-2 I think.
-- Anonymous, November 11, 2000
Well, I think that's (almost) what I predicted on the DT comp, tho I thought Al would score. Decent result against a top 3 side away from hyem.
-- Anonymous, November 11, 2000
Southampton... YES 2-2

Crikey - I see there are only 5 teams who have scored less than us (we've got 14) in the EPL.Leicester (11), Mackems(12), Coventry, Wham and Bradford (5)
-- Anonymous, November 11, 2000
Crikey - I see there are only54 teams who have scored less than us (we've got 14) in the EPL.Leicester (11), Mackems(12), Coventry (12),
Whamand Bradford (5)
-- Anonymous, November 11, 2000
It's worrying me. We've got to give AS more aerial support up front. Flo would be ideal....
-- Anonymous, November 11, 2000
I dunno where you get that from Min.....Flo is just as powder puff at holding the ball up as most tall players (Yin excepted!)....yes he's got good ball control etc but he also tends to overplay it a lot....Not one for us methinks....
-- Anonymous, November 11, 2000
Didn't Gullit go for Flo before w bought the Yin?
-- Anonymous, November 12, 2000
Dublin from Coventry wasn't it?Flo - good. Not sure Mr Capp would agree though...
