Two new transfer targets

I can't see us going for De Zeuw or whatever, but the younger Harris could be a target I suppose, wouldn't say much for Ameobi and Coppinger though.

Interesting to see Gallacher is out of contract at the end of the season. NEWCASTLE UNITED are believed to monitoring two new prospective signings as assistant boss Mick Wadsworth was among the crowd watching the Second Division clash between Wigan and Millwall. He is understood to have been watching Wigan defender Arjan De Zeeuw and Millwall striker Neil Harris according to reports.

The Dutch defender has been impressive for The Latics this season, helping them to joint top in the table.

Magpies boss Bobby Robson may make a move for a new central defender with Spanish flop Marcelino expected to move back home when La Liga transfer system reopens in December.

Harris has been attracting the interest of a number of top clubs with his performances for The Lions and he is rated a very bright prospect.

Meanwhile United striker Kevin Gallacher is waiting anxiously to see if he has a future at St James Park.

The Scottish international, who is out of contract at the end of the season, wants to stay with the Magpies but he is prepared to move on if he is not offered a new contract at the club.

"If I have to go elsewhere, I'm ready for that as well," said Gallacher.

Did De Zeeuw not play for Barnsley in their one season in the PL?
If it's the same guy, I don't recall him being any great shakes.

Clever Clarky! Very clever! (:o)

And spookily enough, four of MY Shih-Tzus came from..........Barnsley! (:o)

All I can say is, they are very good at getting the ball (and keeping it), are good at spotting an opening (usually through the front door and down the drive at 50 mile an hour), and are very loyal (though would be open to bribes in the form of biscuits)! On the down side, they don`t like playing in the rain and are scared of fireworks!(:o)
