Begin Removal of Membership for Richy Cream?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MARP Editors : One Thread

He has submitted a third time a deleted ghostbusters recording. I don't know why it was DQed(slowdown I wager - it doesn't matter at this time.), but if Mr. Cream was emailed that an infraction took place and he willfully reinstated the score, then we should begin proceedings for removal from office.

I need 4 editors to begin the proceeding(this will satisfy a 2/3 vote), and then we MUST... absolutly MUST... call a vote with the MARP players. This also needs 2/3 of the people voting to remove from membership. He is allowed a defense, and we must state the charges.

Any discussion? GB9

In case you're thinking that 10-point difference means anything - all three files uploaded were zipped at 39,230 bytes. It has to be the same recording. GB9

I already sent him an e-mail spelling things out for him once more. Let's see what happens with that. If it comes to a vote, then I think that everybody who votes should know the entire story, so including his extremely rude message in response to BeeJay's new daughter.

Cheers, Ben Jos.

OK. He just replied to my e-mail. Here it is:

(Start of mail)

ok, i wont submit the sf1us recording or the ghostb3 recording anymore. However, dont assume that just because those recording had problems my new ones have problems also. I have since fixed the problem and it no longer occurs. I submited a new recording tonight for ryukendn and it runs perfectly. I am not "cheating" and nor do i need to. I can finish the games that no one else can. You should be proud to have my recordings.

(End of mail)

No comment, other than that his athena and ryukendn recordings are slow too. The other ones look fine to me, as far as I've checked them.

Cheers, Ben Jos.

I've also commented to him about "suggesting" to use win35tg3 mame, i've given him the instructions once. He then replied "I can't use it because in the middle of game play my character turns left." I told him it could be a recent cfg file upseting an older version of mame and to remove the cfg and nvram files associated with the game before playing.

I don't think he's going to cooperate but we can give him some more leeway but i think he's at his 2.9th strike.

Richy seems very coopoerative now, even though i basically have to teach him how to use windows (deleting registry keys and the sort) to get him to use win32tg3 mame. he is saying he wants to use it very much and he admitted using autofire and not having the right speed for previous recordings.

Now hearing chad's last post pisses me off. Here's some correspondance between me and Mr. Cream.

Thursday, October 19th:

what the heck man? this is rediculous. IM NOT CHEATING! Did you just assume that my latest recordings would flash an error like my street fighter recording did, or did you even test them? I can assure you i am not using autofire and my FPS % was not below 54.

I have a saved copy of all e-mails from Mr. Cream if anyone is interested in reading them. Currently, I'm leaning towards a clean removal of all his scores, and then he can start submitting again. But I will follow whatver path the Editors decide. I am not happy about this situation, especially since I'm the Editor who extended him the grace period in the first place.

no word yet as to weather or not he got 35tg3 to work, i am very much in favor of wiping his scores, if he can't submit a 35tg3 recording after being asked a week ago to do so by what it looks like several people. I always try to play good cop, though... hope i wasn't part of your piss off q.t, i'm just trying to give them as much leeway to make up for their cheating, but if they can't then we have no choice but to wipe.

Of course I'm not mad at you skito, you're just extending the same courtesy to him that it seems every other MARP Editor already has. And we all got burnt. That's all I'm trying to say. I have at least three e-mails from Richy stating he was above 90% speed, and another two stating that he absolutely did not use autofire. And then you post that you've been talking to him and he's agreed to stop using autofire and slowdown. What am I supposed to think about the guy? That he had sudden amnesia when he was e-mailing me accusing me of calling him a cheat? I was very polite in my e-mails, I allowed his .inps a grace period, and I asked him to use tg3 so we could verify his problem, and I told him where to get it. He was totally uncooperative, and this was already after going to me apparently after failing to make any impact on BenJos.

So no, I'm not in any way mad at you, but I certinaly am mad at the situation, and I think he may be playing you, although by now he certainly must be running out of Editors to jerk around. And I don't even know what gb9 is talking about for the BeeJay comment, but I can guess. I wish you the best of luck with this one, but my patience with him is at an end.

Yep, he could be jerking us around, and i felt that at every moment talking to him. But unfortunatley it really is difficult to run win3235tg3 mame when you've already setup the latest win3237b8 etc. mame. You have to find the win3235final.zip uload the dlls and then run win3235tg3.exe, we should probably put the dlls in the marp zip of win3235tg3.zip.

but i agree this one is probably a lost cause. marp being down doesn't help matters. isn't it down, i haven't seen any messages of people complaining, but i can't get to it.
