He does not dissapoint an audience who wants to journey into the domain of fear. this tale entombs its readers in their own cellars of mentaldread. whether the story is read a an allegory on the eternal conflict between the unimaginative man and the creative artist, of simply as a self portrait of two aspects of Poe himself, it is stil one of his most briliantly written tales.
