Getting worried LR? Defeat for Newton Heath and not even a UEFA cup place beckons, a draw and third place means going into the UEFA cup. Silvestre has already stated in the press that they are under enormous pressure.

Losing out on the Champions League final stages could lose out on a potential B#25 mill!!

Of course victory is possible but NH have never won in that part of Europe (according to the Guardian, you may be able to correct this).

Do NH need to win by a number of goals or will a win do no matter the score?

Sorry this is what the Guardian said, "The portents aren't good for United. They have never beaten a team from the former Soviet Union and Dynamo have scored in all their European games away from home this season.

-- Anonymous, November 08, 2000

The game's in Manchester mate...we just need to win...anything else but a win and we're out. If we don't win I want us to LOSE and I want Kiev to have the UEFA place. It's a terrible terrible format that the shite from the shite of the CL goes into the UEFA.

Looks like you missed my second post there LR, I realise it's in Manc land tonight.

PSV 9pts, Anderlecht 9pts, Newton Heath 7pts, if your lot win they'll have ten points and if the other two draw they'll have ten points, so how are NH guaranteed to go through if they win. Does it go on results between the two teams etc?

-- Anonymous, November 08, 2000

two go through......more goals scored..stuff like that. Put it this way....if we wim we're through..bottom line.

-- Anonymous, November 08, 2000

it's results between sides what decides it.

Man U have better results against Anderlecht so equal points = Man U success.

On Scottish telly last night they showed tow minutes of injury time from Galatasary-Sturm Graz. The Turks didn't cross the half way line while the Austrians played keepy-up. The green half of Glasgow giggled.

All the best LR , i hope you stuff them .

-- Anonymous, November 08, 2000

i hope you win tonight andy - i mean that

-- Anonymous, November 08, 2000

It sickens me to say this but I hope kiev lose, there you go I said it without saying Man U win. LR can you be nice to me now.

-- Anonymous, November 08, 2000

Really not concerned either way, we'll be playing them on 30th Dec so their participation won't affect us, unless we draw them in a cup match.

-- Anonymous, November 08, 2000

Don't fret Lanky, I am sure they will do well. Let's face it, they always do well. All the best.

Pete

Nae problems tonite LR, SAF has made his gooly at PSV, Man U will be up for it, will the crowd?, best o luck

-- Anonymous, November 08, 2000

There ya go Lanky, 1-0 win. Leeds went through with a 1-1 draw as well.

-- Anonymous, November 08, 2000

Good result tonight LR, although not the most exciting game. Really pleased to see Man U go through. (;o)

-- Anonymous, November 08, 2000

Why were your crowd shouting in Russian all night Lanky? ;-)

-- Anonymous, November 08, 2000

Great result for English football , you can feel proud .

-- Anonymous, November 09, 2000

What the fuck is this thread all about then?

You lot are either all getting very sarcastic or you're sick in the head.....

Personally I was hoping Man Ure would've gotten stuffed and dropped out of the UEFA as well.....

-- Anonymous, November 09, 2000

If it wasn't for that shite centre forward who did an "Andy Cole" in the last minute, NH would be in the UEFA with Barca.

Wes Brown was very impressive though!

-- Anonymous, November 09, 2000

Blleedin' hell..Sting Syme Swift Pete Yelli Buff etc...you've all been smoking :-)

The crowd were up for it...pity Roy Keane wasn't!!

-- Anonymous, November 09, 2000

The crowd were up for it were they???Roy Keane launched a tirade against the Old Trafford crowd after Manchester United's nervous 1-0 Champions League win over Dynamo Kiev.

Teddy Sheringham's goal was only just enough to ensure the Reds' progression through to the second phase of the Champions League, and captain Keane blamed the crowd for failing to lift the team.

Keane told Radio 5 Live: "Our fans away from home are as good as any but at home you sometimes must wonder do they understand the game of football?

"One or two stray passes here and there and they are on players' backs and it's not on.

"Some people come here to Old Trafford and I don't think they can spell football never mind understand it.

"At the end of the day you need to get behind the team.

"Away from home our fans are fantastic, what I'd call the hard-core fans. But at home they have a few drinks and a pile of sandwiches but they don't realise what is going on out on the pitch."

Kegsy...either attend the game yerself or watch it ALL on the telly before making wank statements.....Roy Keane was NOT complaining at the noise or lack of (OT was buzzing last night...take it from me), he was complaining that the crowd were getting on the backs of players when passes went astray etc..which in his view constitutes NOT raising the team...... Fcuk him....he's playing like a nag...we're getting DICKED by PSV and Anderlecht...we fail to sign a decent centre back or midfielder....we're ONLY just holding our own over Kiev.....we're singing as much as we have at home in ages.....WE lined his feckin pockets the greedy shoite..and he publically slates us.

-- Anonymous, November 09, 2000

Sorry LR, that was stolen from the Annova football site. Not my comments, but Roy Keanes. He was there, not me.

-- Anonymous, November 09, 2000

Good player that Roy keane , id have in me side any week .

-- Anonymous, November 09, 2000

I thought the Old Trafford crows were amamzing last night, best I've heard them in all the times I've seen them on the telly.

-- Anonymous, November 09, 2000

Me too and lots of different songs , good to see the old ones dont get used all the time .

-- Anonymous, November 09, 2000

Ok Kegsy......you caught me on one...sorry.

A lot of the fans have spent time effort AND money in attempting to raise the atmosphere at OT. Dunno is you are aware of the banners above the Stretford End...Three big banners..."24 years"..."The Flowers of Manchester 1958" and "The Stretford End...One Love"...all over B#300 each..all paid for by donations from the bbs'ers on m-u-f- c.co.uk. Go to that site...check out the banners...they are sweet.
