A Leeds United fan is in a critical condition in a Milan hospital after being stabbed. The attack comes ahead of tonight's Champions League clash with AC Milan.

The 31-year-old man, whose named has not been released, has undergone emergency surgery in Milan's Fatebenefratelli hospital after being attacked and stabbed all over his body following a dispute.

According to reports, the man was badly injured in the abdomen, but was unable to describe his attackers to police.

Several hundred Leeds fans arrived in Milan yesterday ahead of the crucial game, which Leeds need at least a draw from to ensure progression to the next stage.

City authorities have banned the sale of all alcohol in bars - except in designated retail outlets and restaurants.

The Italians are vile scum. They should be thrown out of Europe. And out of the United Nations. What do they know about culture or civilization? Oh no, that's only the East Europeans we don't like, isn't it?

How odd that when we consider people to be similar to ourselves we make allowances and put things like this down to the work of a few depraved individuals, but if someone is from a very different culture to our own we condemn their entire nation. It's called racism.

Too true Softie. However, I don't know the statistics about football related (or foreigner related) stabbings within England. As we saw in Euro 2000, our fans are pretty dreadful in a foreign environment but we don't hear much about that from the domestic games.

Just pondering...

Following a dispute ? Unable to describe his attackers ? Stabbed all over his body ? Sounds like there may be more to this than meets the eye.

You reckon he paid a lady of easy virtue for a "poke" and it lost something in translation?

Softie
He'd have had to have been pretty inarticulate for anybody of any nationality to have mis-understood that request. It's about the only one that's the same in every lingo.:-))
