I live in Nicosia, and it has the most frightening General Hospital which is funded by the government. Recently my friend had a motorbike accident and broke his leg in two places, but they only found one fracture, duh- we rushed him out of there as soon as we could (gagging all the way)and packed him off to a private institution where they found the other fracture on his ankle (and the staff giggled at the incompetence of the government docs). Where's the worst hospital you've ever been to?

That would be the infirmary at my old university. One of my friends fell on the ice when we were walking across campus, and the infirmary staff told her to take some Tylenol. She complained off and on for two weeks, until we took her to her old doctor. Seeing as she had broken her collarbone, she had been in a lot of unnecessary pain for two weeks (and taken numerous undeserved ribbings from us about being a big baby...)

Long Binh, RVN. Flies crawled on the mouths of the unconcious and the staff was so overworked, frantic with concern and with no sleep, they were gray in the face, their hands trembled and they tottered around with staring eyes like the survivors of Treblinka. And it stank. Bummer. I once saw a MASH unit that made a slaughter house look tidy. Anyone who admires sausage, politics or surgery shouldn't be around when they're being made, apparently.
