The problem is : Have one PC DVD Encore Kit, working in windows 98 . Begining of the story : When i upgrade to WindowsME, in the part of detecting pnp hardware, the monitor goes black ( VGA signal passes tru DXR2 card by one cable ) ... reset ... and no signal. Power off->on ... and no signal... Conecting Monitor directly to VGA card , display all ok...exept , of course DVD... Installing PC DVD player now only goes ou sound!!!??? Only Black video at output... It seems the decoder was gone by harware decteting routines of windowsME ??? The Composite syncronize signals are there in video out, but no video! Any one out there have the same experiences ??? How to reset the PC DVD board...it seems to have one 2401(eeprom U13) directly conected to PCI's BUS CHIP(U12)... Now i gonna reinstall windows98 again and pray to work... Best regards...

i was reading on another site that certain sound blaster live cards wont work in ME due to the digital audio output not having copy protections. now i know the dxr2 is an mpeg2 decoder,(i also have one) but it also has a digital audio output and perhaps ME is refusing it for the same reason. ME has some sort of Digitial Rights Management (DRM) - could be the culprit...

I found a resolution to my problem...It was using one craking program called "Remote Selector" that does turn off the macrovision and region selection...I remember to use that program because it have to write in internal card's EEPROM registers. Now i am using it very well in WindowsME. Tank you a lot for your answer anyway.
