Very interesting Ken - reliable source?

The Sunday Sun this morning reckons it may be December 2001 before UEFA/FIFA finally agree a new transfer system with the EU. So, maybe the Toon have decided they can't wait any longer to strengthen the squad.
IMO, the player in question is class, and would be a great acquisition. However, I can't see his present Club letting him go for less than B#10mm - which I doubt we've got.
We're still short of cover up front and with CC injured it means AS simply has to play every minute of every game. This is too much to expect him to keep doing, and a third front man makes lots of sense.

It came from one of the guys is our sportsroom, and while he has been wrong before, it don't happen very often....so I always tend to trust him.......its not cast iron, but I would more often that not put money on his tips.

The rational seems to be that, a bit like Bergkamp, Flo ain't keen on flying.....when he has to, he does fly, but prefers landbased transport.

Seemingly whenever he goes to Norway, he either does the tunnel and drives there over a couple of days, or he does Harwich to Stavanger (or somewhere like that) and does longer on the boat and shorter driving, and he see's Newcastle as a good alternative, given he could get a ferry direct to Oslo from North Shields.

The story seem's to have some legs, and while I also think he's a good player, if he can't get into the Chewsee team and is getting disgruntled, how is he gonna feels if YBR gets round to the squad rotation system he seems to be striving for......will he be off on his toes again.

It's a tough call Ken. We've been moaning on here today about YKD's lack of progress towards the finished article, and undoubtedly you have to ask why Flo still can't command a regular slot at Chewsee?
It comes down to price for me - at B#6mm he'd be a good buy, for B#10mm I'm not nearly so sure he would be a sound investment.

Soon as I hear anything more I'll post it up.

An analogy with my running shoes... if I buy two pairs together they seem to last longer than if I buy them one at a time.

Shearer need help. Cort will do and it seems YBR has gone for traditional big lads up front.But..

Flo would just be smashing and would give Al a rest, allow Cort to mature...guess I'm dreaming

I like Flo (Andy Capp's not bad either) and would happily see him in a B&W shirt. Of course, he's a tad p!$$ed off being left outr at Chewsee. Who says it would be any different at SJP? He's be guaranteed a starting place at Man City. Not necessarily so at SJP.
