We are all too familiar with the extreme lengths that Republicans went to, at tremendous expense to the taxpayers, to manufacture grounds for impeachent of a sitting president over a personal matter which was none of our business in the first place.

I would hope that the ramifications of the criminal record and deceptive character of D-Dubya-I would be sufficient to prevent someone who is guilty of a far more serious crime from even getting into office in the first place. This would save the taxpayers a lot of money and permit our congressmen to get on with their work, instead of wasting another 2 years on another media-inspired soap opera.

But if by some tragic misjudgement by the people this criminal actually gets into office, it seems to me that the highest priority for our congress would be to put his actions into their proper perspective by immediately impeaching him. I only hope that this can be handled much more expediently and efficiently than the last time, so that our government can quickly get back to work on the issues which are so important to the people.

It is really a shame that we even have to waste so much time and money dealing with such matters, but this is the kind of thing that will continue to happen as long as Republicans are involved in our political system.

A polite responce from someone who disagrees is met by a typical responce from someone who has nothing valuable to contribute to the discussion. Guess which party each belongs to? If Gore gets elected you can look forward to another impeachment trial I believe because he has done as much as if not more that could be considered treasionous as his boss. Everyone should stick to the issues rather than making even a polite but off point comment reguarding the original post.

What else? Well if you watched the news you would ahve heard Bush's press lady explain that he had two other convictions. One was for theft and the other was for drunk and disorderly at a football game. This is what they are admitting. Now. Finally.

The Holidays Carlos and none to soon.

Sitting here watching CSPAN. Had an interview of Gore from 1986. Now have GW from 1991. One thing which I find striking, and confirmed during the debates is this...Bush does not come across as someone who really wants to be president.

If he wins, he will be eaten alive I am afraid to say. The guy is just too nice, and too naive to last in DC. He is no idiot obviously, but clearly lacking in life experience beyond the yokels he has met on golf courses or at Texas Stadium. While this childlike glimmer is attractive, it is not what I want in somebody as chief executive of these United States. If I were his friend, I would tell him to ditch the idea of being President pronto out of concern for him.

Glad I have seen these interviews. Ties up many reasons for me as to why GW is the way he is. Albert is sincere and solid, and equally a nice guy. Difference is in the experience levels in the big leagues. Gore has-em, GW only by way of being an observer.

If GW is to be our next President, he will need our support. I truely believe if he can distance himself from the kooks surrounding him (Religious Right), he will probably be OK. World won't end or anything. Big if however.

I do not think any problem facing this nation is beyond solving when the American people(Albert and George included) are unshackled from the bureaucracy which has been built up to allow special interests to operate in direct conflict with our Constitution and founding tenets which define America.

Some will rightfully say these two are products, benefactors of this bureaucratic mess much of our nation is burdened with, I would agree. However they are human and are not the temples of evil painted. These are not bad people but decent people working in bad systems.

The answer I believe is in balance governance with a view always for innovation.

I think we all need to just drop the crap, vote our conscience and get on with our lives. Vastly more important and within our control than what happens in Government.

Nice words Doc but you failed to touch on the overriding concern of most *thinking* Americans:

Al Gore is basically a substandard lying scumbag who will continue in the ways of his boss and sell our country to the highest bidder, which is currently the PRC. Al Gore is not even accomplished enough to remember his lies and therefore has become the scorn of leaders throughout the world.

I would like to be able to toggle someone else than GWB on Tuesday but I would elect Peewee Hermann before allowing a fool like Al Gore to ruin this country. If ever there was a reason to cross your party line it is now Doc.
