Why is it that to flip burgers at any McDonalds you have to reveal all your arrests when applying for a job, but Bush is allowed to evade and lie about his past?

"OK George, fill out this application. Now, our Big Mac sandwich has to be prepared just so, and it takes skill and determination. Have you ever used drugs?"

"Uh, not gonna answer that. Not gonna."

Hmmmm. Wasn't that his Dad's line?

Have you ever filled out a job aplication? Most I have ever filled out only ask about any felony convictions in the last seven years. I've never filled out a welfare application, but I'm sure you have. Maybe they ask you to reveal all of your arrests.

Oh,ho,ho! This is really cute.Of course it shouldn't matter, a 20 yr old arrest. But now tell me if the R's had gotten ahold of something like this against Clinton-Gore,they wouldn't have used it? In the interests of "fairplay"? Sticking to the real issues? Yeah, give me a break!

Don't you remember old Geo Sr's attack dog,Lee Atwater? And the the distorted filth he peddled against Dukakis? It's somewhat telling that when asked about why he didn't reveal this months ago when asked about any brushes with the law(as all candidates are asked)the gov's supposed response was "I don't recall".

butt:

If you're filling out a job that requires a security clearance, they ask for your entire life's history. I ASSUME the position of President requires a security clearance.

>> I ASSUME the position of President requires a security clearance. <<

Er. Actually, it doesn't. The POTUS is given a security clearance after getting the job.

The requirements for getting the job are spelled out in the US constitution. 35 or older. Natural born citizen. Gets enough electoral college votes to win. I may have forgotten something, but that about covers it.

Oh and don't forget Brian -- it also says that you will be impeached if you are caught lying about getting a blow job.

Lets see now. Mena Arkansas and the friends of Bill list VS a little old drunk driving conviction. Yea I guess that the drunk driving conviction is a whole lot more important. And as for Gore, hum lets see. Theres the Buddists thing and the russian thing and the using public funds and facilities thing. Yea I guess your right. A 27 year old drunk driving conviction beats that too.

"a little old drunk driving conviction"

LOL - nice denial.

"A 27 year old drunk driving conviction"

Oh I see, overnight it's grown from 24 years old to 27!

Do you have any proof of your right-wing false accusations against the Democrats?

Sorry but I was being sloppy with my facts. I'm still waiting on some facts of any kind from the oposition. No one is denying the DUI. As for Alberts activities since in office I think we can easily say that he probably has more immunity as the VP than the son of a texas oil man would have.

Gee no, but the son of the former head of the CIA and former president of the USA.

Do you even know who Bush's father is? Sounds like you have lost as many brain cells as he did with his drinking. He accused the democrats of thinking that social security was a function of the federal government. Well DUH, it IS..... Bush didn't seem to know this as he ragged on about Gore, acusing him of thinking social security was run by the federal government, over and over. He's loosing it. To join the military and recieve a security clearance you have to answer a lot of questions about your past and the people you have associated with. The papers you sign give a clear warning that if you are found to have lied on your application, you can be prosicuted. Now GW Bush or someone around him have got to know that he is required to fill out this paperwork. Did he plan to lie? Or would he just try to get away with saying he made some mistakes in his past? If he does not answer these questions will they allow him into the office?

What is the real reason he lied? I thought alcaholics were taught during their treatment that they have to be honest with themselves and the people they are close to? Aren't they supposed to stand up and admit their alcaholism? If he had to quit drinking completely, then he cannot handle drinking at all. Is lying about his problem showing a "good example" to those who he is supposed to lead?
