I just read an interesting story about blood banks for dogs and cats at http://www.cnn.com/2000/US/11/03/pets.blood.supply.02.ap/index.html . Most of the story was about dogs and they made the point that the best donors are the largest animals. It occurred to me that the Maine Coon community might want to consider the idea. We could help save the lives of a lot of cats if we could contribute. I assume any healthy animal could be a donor, even if it won't win any other championships!
