greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I have a new litter of AWFA NKC ARF registered English Shepherd pups that will be ready to go the first week in January.

They are an excellent small farm dog. This litter is inbred to this dog:

I would like to know are these old English Sheep dogslike on that old movie the shaggy dog! I never see anyone with an Old English Sheep dog anymore...English Shepherd sounds like the kind that bring the cows home at night....anyway I live on a farm on a Mountain..Murrish Mountain and my wife would love to have an Old English Sheep dog !!!

C.T., no, these dogs aren't Old English Sheepdogs. If you go to the url Elaine gave, you will see a typical example of an American Working Farmcollie, who also happens to be registered as an English Shepherd (an American breed, by the way). We are getting one of his sons in a couple of weeks, and are very pleased about it. I think they are ideal small farm dogs. If you go to these urls, you can get more information: http://www.geocities.com/farmcollie1/index.html; http://izebug.syr.edu/~gsbisco/collie.htm. Look them up, and let me know what you think!
