Your question relates to good short stories by Edgar Allan Poe. I think that you have a rather broad range from which to choose from, seeing as Poe was quite prolific in his treatment of the short story genre. May I suggest that you peruse the following, which are amongst my personal favourites:

The Masque of the "Red Death"; The Fall of the House of Usher; The Tell-Tale Heart; The Pit and the Pendulum; The Cask of Amontillado; The Black Cat; Premature Burial (and so on, and so forth...). I think you should find these interesting, especially if you are into the Gothic, the supernatural, or the macabre.
