DB what is going on??? Do you know how far Cort is away from being fit? I really don't fancy meeting liverpool in the final of the worthington cup. We never beat them and owen always plays a blinder against us. I wish they would stop showing him rubbing his hands together after he scored his hattrick against us. Little shit.

I would guess another couple of weeks before we see Cort again. Thankfully Cordone seems to be playing pretty well at the minute and Lua-Lua will be back for the weekend.

I'm not sure but I think we are only destined to meet Liverpool in the final, with the way the draw is structured. Either them or the Mackems, or even Manure reserves.

If we play out of our skin we can beat anybody, it's just the off days that worry me!

I'm here.....well kind of, I've been struggling to work up the enthusiasm to post anything for a couple of weeks now.....

-- Anonymous, November 02, 2000

I've known barren spells on here but the last few weeks has been a bit too quiet. I wonder if Dunx could collate some stats on the number of postings per week.

I'm here for another 15 minutes then off home! Still knackered and slightly hungover from last night - mid-week drinking is not a good idea!
Working on the department web site and just made a load more work for myself 'cos I didn't realise that using frames calls up the pages. Silly me thought it saved them in there and then you could delete them - DOH!

Midweek drinking is very bad but only for the time that you are at work. When you awake in the morning and stumble into the end of your bed and you laugh about it. Then after a horrible day at work you get back home realising you hadn't locked the front door and go for a beer with four fellow midweek drinkers and laugh about the club that you went to on a 'school night'

Haven't done it for a while now but i often end up in Northampton's 'The Lounge' (Cue Scratchy to tell you how bad 'the Lounge'is, but he'll remember it as Panache!).

Great Sport though.

I expect you`ve all gone home from work now - and I`ve just got back from a shopping trip! Took my mother to the new Southampton West Quay Centre. After all the hype about it, it was actually quite disappointing. Still better that housework any day!!!

Pretty exciting stuff last night wasn`t it - boy do we make things difficult for ourselves sometimes. Wor Bobby must have the constitution of an ox to cope with all that stress!(:o)

Debuilder.....sorry mate but I'll be backing Scratchy up on that one.....Panache was one of the biggest dumps I've ever been in!! :))

-- Anonymous, November 02, 2000

Panache beat Ritzy's any day of the week (but mostly on tuesdays).

-- Anonymous, November 02, 2000

Lads, Lads, As a student on a Tuesday it was always down to Ritzy's/Zone then speed march back into town to get into Panache.

Panache is now called the Lounge and they even project their logo onto the library in a Ministry of Sound manner, not quite the same though.

Ritzy's, alas is no more. The fella that owns Northampton Rugby Club bought the building after the club closed down and as part of the new stadium development which my company is managing, Ritzy's is being demolished as we speak!! One of my colleagues went in there and there were still glasses on the bar as if somebody closed the place on the last night and nobody else went back!!

Anyway they are all better than Chicago's!

If you want really exciting nightlife DeBuilder, you want to come to Bashley - if you think you can stand the pace.......teehee! (;o)

Do you boys remember some dodgy bar called Stars and Stripes? is that still there? god this is giving me the shudders remembering all these horrible places...

How does it compare to Bumblefuck, Galaxy, is it a "pack the extra battery for the pacemaker" or a "bring your own viagra" place: do tell? ;-)

2 Nov (21:15)

Just got back from a meeting in Grimsby (!!!). The drive back in pouring rain was horrendous - I'm absolutely knackered.
In North Yorks the rain turned to sleet and there were rivers of water running down the road. Very bad accident halted progress for 30 minutes.
Thoroughly nadgered - but glad to be able to get on here for a spell - couldn't get on at all again last night after the match when - as you can probably guess - I was full of it!

Galaxy,

Haev they finally bloody finished that 'carbuncle' and opened it? They've been building it for bliddy ages...

-- Anonymous, November 02, 2000

Softie it`s both of those! High proportion of `wrinklies` on the South Coast (and I don`t quite include myself in that category yet - but I`m getting there). On the Viagra front, well, it is apparently a popular product down here. Pete went for a medical for the company`s `key man` policy, and got talking to the doctor about the fact that the medical centre has to be run more like a business these days. It transpires that the biggest single expense that the centre has is for the supply of Viagra! I was honestly gobsmacked and confirms that I don`t actually consider myself a `wrinkly` yet because it made my flesh creep!

Besides the old-timers, the rest of the local population is made up of........well......think `Deliverence` meets Home Counties! (;o)

Min - yep, that particular carbuncle is finished now - a blot on an even bigger blot on the landscape! Southampton has to be one of the grottiest places around. Actually, we are very good at carbuncles down here - Bournemouth has the truly horrendous and criminally placed Imax Cinema and in Poole you are spoilt for choice with bad planning decisions. The planners over there seem favour the `psuedo urban decay` style - and are very good at it!(:o)

Gav,

Stars'n'Stripes, are you sure that wasn't just the drink! Seriously where was this because I don't remember seeing it.

Difficult to describe DB cos I'm not a local but I'll give it a bash....it was down the bottom end of town, over the roundabout and down by the side of the Carlsberg brewery.....I remember that we used to have to go past it to go back up the M1, it was kind of on it's own......which is just as well.....I'm gonna have to go and have a look when I'm up next just to find out what's there now :))

-- Anonymous, November 03, 2000

Ah I think you're talking about 'The Pelican Cove' which is opposite the brewery next to a chinese restaraunt. It was always a bit of a dive but was quite good in the summer time when I used to live in that part of town as they opened the yard up and had bar-b-que's.

It is now called Eternity and is owned by the brother of Ben Cohen the Northampton and England rugby player and nephew of George Cohen, the former England footballer. Obviously the Northampton rugby players frequent it often along with my local which is nearer the old Racecourse in the middle of town, the old Quaser Laser place to you Scratchy!

-- Anonymous, November 03, 2000

yeap Stars N Stripes is now Pelican Cove. Watched the Eubank - Benn fight in a pub down the road from there once, almost got me head panned in shouting for Eubank when all the locals were going for Benn. Bit of a laugh - especially as Christh won too.
The old Lazer Quest...is that football shop round the corner still in business?

-- Anonymous, November 03, 2000

No that Footie shop is now a tragic PC-4-U waste of space, although it is situated near the excellent award winning Star of India curry house. Great lads in there, look after you when you walk in from the pub!
