May i could ask a question? What did you have to do that your dog becomes a champion? Did you get Championpoints, cards. How many etc?

Oops, that was badly phrased! I hope it didn`t sound as though I personally have made up nine new Champions!!!!

I meant nine new Champions in the breed this year overall.

To become a Champion in the UK you need to win three Challenge Certificates. Dogs and bitches compete seperately at Championship Shows, at the end of all of the various classes a Best Dog and Best Bitch is chosen from the winners of the classes, and they receive a Challenge Certificate. So at each Championship Show, there are two Challenge Certificates to be won - one for each sex.

So this year so far, nine Shih-Tzus have won their 3rd Challenge Certificates and become Champions.

Is that clearer? (:o)

It is a bit clearer. How many show do you have at all to get the certificate? Are they often withheld by the judge? Thank god i need to only two more for Mighty and he is finished.LOL But he had time as his last on count after April 01

There are 31 (I think) Championship Shows each year where you could win a CC. I can`t remember any occasion when the CC has been withheld, but I stand to be corrected. (:o)

Just a question. If you have a dog that has already these three certificates, what happend than.Does he/she get the title with the last certificate or do you have to send in for it.If this dog would be finish but still show and get the cards.Call me stupid.Does the 2 winner get it than as a reserve. I mean if the winner does not need it ,would it be given as a reserve to the 2 dog.

Once you have won your 3rd CC, you apply to the Kennel Club for the certificate. BUT, it does not mean that you are restricted in anyway. You can carry on showing your dog, and of course many people do, and are just as entitled to win the CC as anyone else. Therefore, there is no restriction on the number of CC`s you can win.

In theory, an individual dog/bitch could win every single CC for a whole year! I don`t know what the record is for the most number of CCs won by any one dog in a single year (anyone?)

This was the reason I posed the question on another thread `Should we have a Champions Class?`.(:o)

I see now the reason for the thread. Her in my club with the last CAC,new cac which you one got to the second dog in the class,if she/or he got the Res,CAC.They move up. It is getting only worst, when someone show the dog and collect CAC cards and his waiting time(1 year and a day) has not passed. You could have had a finished champion as you do not know, which card(if many someone send in). I think the showworld in such a chase lost sportmensship.
