How would you know?

I'd guess al-d has a lot of us remembering CPR's efforts more fondly. He is more one-sided than CPR while being far less topical, he makes Doc Paulie look like someone who diagrams his sentences, and he gives no indication I can see of being part of any dialogue at all. We are being spammed.

-- Flint (flintc@mindspring.com), October 27, 2000.

I read it.

And I shall continue to read it AND enjoy it.

So there.

Yep: I have been reading it for years. It reminds me of another old favorite; Finnegan's Wake.

Best wishes,,,,

Here is Al's most recent post from A GREAT LIGHT WAS SEEN!!! I have tried to bluepencil it for spelling and punctuation.

Jesus said, "I AM THE LIGHT THAT LIGHTS ALL MEN." Did you know that all the misery that's happening in this world is the kingdom of darkness? He also said, "the spirit of man is the candle of the LORD". Guess what happens when every candle gets lit? In the meantime bad news = bad news = bad news! The blind man said "I can't see the sun but I feel its warmth." NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS. THE KINGDOM OF LIGHT WILL SWALLOW UP THE KINGDOM OF DARKNESS. Sorry, Matt Drudge, you'll be out of business.

Does that help? There is still "bad news = bad news = bad news". Huh?

Lars:

You forgot the obligatory YEEHAAA.

Best wishes,,,,

Yeehaw!!! did not survive my blue pencil. I try to maintain the editing standards of The New Yorker

"I wonder if anybody ever reads Al-d dogs zianet's continual jammering?"

Yep.

"If you do, you're a fool!"

Seems to me you also read them else why would you have commented to the point of starting an entire thread about it, sooooooooooooo.................

:-)

I read Al's posts and find them to be almost as coherent as The Human Spell-Checker (aka Flint).

-- shrubby (will@ruin.country), October 28, 2000.

I do scan al-d's offerings. I find he occasionally touches upon areas where east meets west - philosophically and metaphysically - which intrigues me. (I'm sure he cringed as he read this last statement)

That I've found no way as of yet to engage him in discussion is perhaps my great good fortune.

My one criticism is that al-d is seemingly compelled to begin multiple threads covering the same topic, thereby driving other threads down and off the Recent Answers page. This is disrespectful of others on the forum and leads me to believe he is unable or unwilling to put in the time and effort to nurture one thread, so he, as Flint mentioned, SPAMS the board.

Not cool, al-d. You've been made aware of this by many people over a long period of time. Yet you choose to SPAM rather than post and discuss. Not cool at all.

Rich, what in the hell would YOU know about being cool?

-- rude (crude@socially.screwed), October 28, 2000.

Nice editing, Lars. I only noticed one period on the Brooklyn side of its sentence's closing quotation mark.

Ahem, shrubby, be advised that I am the Human Spell-Checker.

I like al-d, he is a righteous and cool dude. I am not a fool.

Sorry fun-ny guy posting above me, no cigar. You're not al-d. You and al-d have been around too long, I know the difference.

To me, al-d is interesting like an idiot-savant is. He's freaky in that he makes sense and he's logical in his own bizarre world, consistantly (if that makes sense to you reader.) And he even has his unique typographic personality! As interesting as dIEteR was.

-- (smarty@wannabe.one), October 28, 2000.

Cin,

I pulled that link from Amazon in response to the idiot anon who flung some dung my way. A quick search on "cool" in cyberspace brought up that particular book. I thought it worth a chuckle.

And no, I haven't read it.
