Do CDR color affect the made VCD quality?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

In market, there are many kind of CDR such as green, blue, silver, gold, black, red, light green at the bottom. I have use blue, silver & gold CDR to make VCD, but the result seems the same.

What is the difference about the different color of CDR?

Do it affect the quality of made VCD?

i don't think the cd-r color/dye affects the quality of the vcd, but different burners and vcd players do react differently to the color/dye used in the cd-r. i think the trick is to just get the right combination of burner/player/media that works best for your situation. at first i thought i had a problem with a certain brand cd-r media, then i thought it was my burner, but after further testing, it turned out that my dvd player (which is not supposed to play cd-r media) was actually corrupting or changing the data originally burned on the cd-r media, a little at a time, after each playback.

i finally discovered that going to cd-rw media resolved my particular situation.
