Now that's what kids are for :) Lots of magic in this image, and thanks for not flashing the backs of their heads (I know certain other people who would have done that, in name of "detail" :)

I also like the photo--it tells a great deal even without showing many details.

I'm wondering who's "copying" whom around here, though. : )

Yeah, that one is pretty neat, too, Mike. It doesn't show much more detail than mine and yet it still "shows" quite a bit.

That comparison is stretching it a bit, don't you think? Copying?...I don't think so! Tony, you have a nice beautiful, original image.

What I like about this shot is the out-of-focus background makes it look like a dream when combined with the silhouetting. It's got that childhood yearning thing. Although I wonder what it would be like with only one kid.

There seem to be some digital artifacts in the dark spaces, though, or maybe it's something else.

To be honest, I'm afraid those digital artifacts are a result of some poor digital post-processing. This was done a while back before I started getting comfortable doing all this digital stuff. And actually I never really gave this one a second look until reading some of the threads on this forum. Now I like this shot quite a lot, sort because of some sort of acknowledgement of a style or something. (is that bad? i'm not even sure!) Thanks for the comments, all.

I can see a theme here...

Nigel, I really like your photograph. And the presentation of it is very nice, too. A great people silhouette.

I really like the pictures everyone has posted on this page. I love sillouettes(sp?) but I'm not able to do them consistently. Following the theme:

Of course, the print looks much better and had I printed it myself... (blah blah blah). I think it needs something, I'm just not sure what.

Brian:

It needs (in my opinion):
  1. cropping away some of the space at the right,
  2. to have the third person on the right removed, and
  3. to have some detail in the leg area of the mother and child -- as it is it is half a sihouette! Wait 15 seconds and they are in the light.

Very nearly there Brian! It's a good location and the mother and child is great. Go back once more -- and then post the results here.
