I think a lot of you guys gave some interesting input. However, if you want to compare Michael Jackson to Prince, as far as album sales and popularity Michael has Prince beat. As far as dancing, Michael has Prince on that. Singing wise, Michael is great! but one dimensional. Prince on the other hand is also great! however, he vocally more versatile and apt especially when it comes to mastering 24 different instruments. Songwriting wise, Michael-childlike, Prince- spiritual/sexual. Give both Great Artist an equal tie. Hopefully oneday both will work on some projects oneday to help our human society. Thank you-U all. The MaskMan Peace.

I know the two were supposed to record "Bad"together. However, their egos would not allow it.

I like Prince's music but personally I prefer Jackson.

His songs are more versatile,(not always about sex)and he's a better performer than Prince.

You are a fool if you think that Prince is the better of both. Who has the biggest selling album of all time? Who is better dancer? Who has the biggest concert tour of all time? Who has the best performace of on stage? Who was the who made a new Ära of Pop Music? Who honored President Ronald Reagan 1984? Who selled with only 4 Albums over 50 Million of Copies? Who wrote timeless songs like Bllie Jean? You really think that's Price? Michael Jackson is the King of Pop and no one else. It's he who will be remembered in Hystory not Prince. That's it.

I read that it was because of the lyrics of " Your butt is mine" in "Bad" that Prince decided not to do the song with MJ. In the book "Purple Reign", it mentions not only that I believe, but the fact that Prince had dinner at MJ's house one night and contiually hit on Brooke Shields the whole time. The comparisons in musicianship and popularity are only because of the time both artists were at the height of their popularity. Michael, (biggest artist of 1983 with Thriller), and Prince (with Purple Rain). You would have to be a fool not to see Prince is the superior singer and musician between the two. Both have had a hard time producing hits these days, but one artist continues to devolve and one artist continues to evolve. Guess which is which? That was a lot for one question, huh?

The two artists have often been compared to as being similar but are truthfully entirely different. It is true that Quincy Jones wanted to get Prince to be on the Bad track with MJ but there were as the The Void said, "artistic differences". A rare meeting had been set up between the two legends however Prince didn't like MJ's attitude, thought he was arrogant. If you ask me, it would never have worked as both artists' egos are far too big for either of them to ever work together. And furthermore, the way the two artists work are totally different. Michael Jackson is a perfectionist with his music, and will constantly re-work his pieces scrupulously to achieve the exact sound he wants. Prince, on the other hand, is extremely prolific, and will simply produce massive amounts of music that come straight out of his head. Definately, "artistic differences".

Actually, Prince turned down BAD based on artistic differences. He didn't like the idea of a child-like showdown between dancing streetgang leaders. You'll have to remember that Prince was doing very experimental jazz/funk/rock/pop fusions at that time (well, experimental for that era anyway. Prince has never taken any of MJ's offers seriously, but as of late, there all rumoured offers from MJ to Prince are not true. Prince isn't a large enough attraction for MJ to post on his albums, and MJ is exactly what Prince would consider a complimenting musical artist. I doubt they will ever record together.

Michael Jackson wanted to do a dance and singing battle against Prince in the song "Bad". But Prince told: "No, Michael is shit, I dont want to work with him". Michaels Producer Quincy Jones asked Michael: What you think about it, that Prince doesnt want to work with you?" Michael told just: "stupid". It was reconnizable that Prince was afraid to be pissed off in the clip, because Michael was a lot more talented as he is.

Yes Prince had plans to do a duo with Jacko. He was even going to star in the Bad short film (instead of Wesley Snipes). However the first sentence of the song put Prince off completely; "You butt is mine"

Michael Jackson and Prince were supposed to do a coppolation to the song Bad,it was supposed to be like a showdown between the two. But Prince decided it didn't really need him for it to become a hit.Too bad
