I need to know how Poe's writings, especially poems or short stories, are based on events or things and people that were in or happened in his life.

Well Duh there... If you read about Poe then you would know that he had various women in his live that he loved DIE! He wrote alot of stroies and peoms based off of he's expercences in he's life with the people he loved and with his stepfather that shunded him away when his step mother died of the same disease his mother did. Like the poem Annabel lee fits right along with his wifes death. If you read some of his stuff things might become clearer to you. Yours truly, Crystal
