Singapore-bound plane makes emergency landing

CHENNAI, India, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- An Air India Airbus A-310 bound for Singapore with 219 people made an emergency landing Wednesday at Chennai's international airport, but no one was injured, reports said.

Star TV said the pilot of the plane suspected a hydraulic problem in the aircraft's nose.

The flight had originated in Mumbai and had stopped earlier in Chennai before embarking on the final leg of its trip.

The emergency landing was the fourth in a month at Chennai, formerly Madras, by Indian Airlines and Air India planes.
