SkKy reckon that Crozier is on his way to Italy this week for a cozy chat with SGE. Of the three, I think as a personality I'd prefer him. Wenger has a great record, but he's too much of a whinger (and he's French). Hodgson would be a waste of space, time and money. But that's only my opinion. I wish YBR had a clone.

I think that Taylor should be given a chance, he seems to be the best man for the job. If he isn't then ROY HODSON, would be a better manager than venables or one of those foriegn blerks.

what's with the Hodgson says he dosen't want the job? When I spke to him yesterday, he was very much into acepting the new challenge.

Despite all the whining and 'hand wringing' from the Press and pros within the game that the FA MUST appoint an Englishman from the vast array of available talent, the harsh reality is that if you exclude Vegetables and BR, for different reasons, there is literally NOBODY else.
I'm still uneasy over this. When they've crossed all the high profile candidates off their famous short-list, they may well conclude that one way or another they just have to get Wor Bobby.

What a dogs breakfast!!!

Venables V Hodgson,

Defending The venables, Mr Screacher,

Defending The Hodgeson , Mrs Jacko.

Let battle commence

I've stated my case before - more as an agent (provocateur?) than as a defence. I'm also thinking along similar lines to Clarky - if Venables is ruled out, then the only other Englishmen who I believe could do it come down to Taylor and YBR.

Having just had their manager "poached" by The Bhoys, I can't see the Foxes being too keen on Taylor extending his stint at Lancaster Gate. FS has already stated his case, and YBR couldn't/wouldn't walk.

As Clarky says - it really is a dog's breakfast. What ever happened to the FA stopping clubs trying to poach others' managers? Doesn't the same apply at the National level? If it does (and I'm not sure), then it would appear we have to look at someone who is unemployed. And if it's to be an Englishman (not that I'm saying it has to be) then there is only Venables who meets that particular criterion. Aren't Hodgson's club saying he's under contract?

I wonder what Alf Ramsey is doing nowadays? Probably turning in his grave.

Frankly, the FA should be cleared out en mass for "gross negligence & utter incompetence" for presiding over the present farcical situation, and replaced with a small professional management team.
As for England Coach - did someone mention Johan Cruyff?

There is much to criticise the FA for but I don't think we can blame them for trying it on with YBR. However, that two PL Chairmen are on the FA committee that recommended the move for Robson is more questionable. It's like Freddy Shepherd saying that he thought David O'Leary or Arsene Wenger should be given the job.

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned the other Taylor - Graham. Doing brilliantly again at Watford, which was good enough last time around. Has prior experience of the job, and of press hostility, just like wor Bobby.

Can you imagine....aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Roy Hodgson's club have given him permission to speak to the FA if they are interested in him. (according to sporting-life)

I gather the man once set to coach Germany, Chistoph Baum, is now out of contract. Could be worth a sniff. I'd go for SVE myself. Venables is the Arther Daley of English football and n ot to be trusted.
