Walnut bottoms :)

Once again can I mentioned how new we are at this?

We spent a beautiful Sunday afternoon cleaning up under the walnut tree. It was a great harvest for such a gnarled old tree.

I knew that black walnut stained but this was an English walnut tree. My husband did most of the work, shucking the husks off some slightly slimey nuts even though his gloves had a hole in the forefinger. So the hardworking guy sat under the tree husking walnuts, and enjoying the beautiful day for several hours.

Later that night we realized that the finger (now black) was permanently stained. To add insult to injury, after taking off his boxers to take a shower, he has matching stains on his cheeks where he had sat on some husks! =:o

Anyone know how to get this stuff off? (not that I will tell him of course!)

Amy thanks for posting this I needed a good laugh :o). I thought I was the only one that did things like that! To my knowledge there is no way to remove the stain. If fact walnut hulls make such a good stain a lot of folks use them for dying yarn and other things. Any way you could get a picture? Might be good blackmail material for later :o).

It will come off eventually as the skin cells slough off. In the meantime, tell everyone! It's too good of a story to keep to yourself.

Amy; what a laugh! I don't know about walnut stains, as they are really tough to remove, but I used denture cleaning tablets to remove beet stains from skin, and they help. May at least fade the stain a bit. You just disolve them in a cup of water, like alka seltzer, and soak the finger in it. If you can find a HUGE economy sized box, you could make a sitz bath for him....Jan

On hands the only solution I have to offer is washing lots of dishes.Ugh i hate washing dishes. Got my lifetime of dishwashing in cleaning up after my active ,always eating, constant dirty dishes, siblings. As far as butt stains, I can offer no better solution than the halloween theme.I don't believe I could top that even trying hard. How about you?

There was a reason they used to use walnut as a stain.
