Pressure problem grounds plane carrying GOP wives AUSTIN, Texas (Reuters) - An airplane carrying Republican wives Laura Bush and Lynne Cheney made an unscheduled landing in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Monday after it developed cabin pressure problems, a Bush spokesman said.

No one was injured and the women, on their way from Austin to Wisconsin to campaign for the GOP ticket of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, were to board another plane, said spokesman Bob Hopkins.

Also on the flight were Cyndi McCain, wife of U.S. Sen. John McCain, and Bush foreign policy adviser Condoleezza Rice.

There sure would have been political fallout -- no pun intended -- if this flight had gone down.

Repercussions would have been wide spread, had this been more serious, to the point of a crash, I would think.
