Do you eat canned soup? Well, what kind of soup do you like?

I like President's Choice, Too Good To Be True Pasta e Fagiole and the PC TGTBT Low-fat Lentil. Other than those two, I don't eat canned soup as soup. I add various cream of _____ soups to some casseroles and the potato dish I made for Thanksgiving. Mostly, I make homemade soups in the fall and winter. Oh, I make gazpacho in the late summer. too.

I really, really hate soup. I don't know why. Stew, also. I think it's an anti-liquid dinner thing. (don't get me started on Slim Fast..), but I was really sick a couple of weeks ago and submitted to being fed soup. It was some sort of tortilla soup from Central Market and it rocked.

I like Progresso's creamy soups, but for the most part I only eat soup at restaurants. Much like Wayne and Garth, if I walk in someone's house and get "soup whiff", I'm completely grossed out, and won't eat anything at their house, much less drink a beverage. I'm strange, I know.

Bruegger's Bagels makes really great Chicken Noodle soup and another chicken soup that has wild rice in it. That's where I usually go if I'm in a soup mood.

Lately I've been on a canned-soup-for-lunch craze. I usually buy Campbell's chicken 'n stars, double noodle, or low-fat cream of chicken. I've also had lots of Ramen Noodles. The other day I bought Food Lion Brand chicken 'n stars and that was pretty good, but a little salty.

I also used various cream of chicken/mushroom/cheddar soups for cooking.

I only eat Healthy Choice when it comes to canned soup. That, or certain Progresso soups. Since I don't eat red meat or poultry, all my favorites are vegetarian. Progresso "Vegetarian Vegetable with Barley", Healthy Choice "Mediterranean Bean with Pasta" are reliable standbys. And then there's Safeway Select (eww, store brands!) - the Healthy Advantage line has a "Minestrone" that's pretty good. I eat them a lot at work because they are easy, convenient, and I can have some cans stashed in my desk for a long time for whenever I just gotta have soup.

I like Campbell's French Onion soup. This weekend I made Potato Leek soup from scratch. Very easy to make.

I ate Campbell's chicken/brocolli/cheese today. It tasted okay, but the smell wasn't particularly appetizing. Back to Cream of Chicken, I guess.

I like stew but I'm too lazy to make it. I bought a bag of lentils, but I've been too lazy to even find a lentil soup recipe. I'm usually scared to try new soups. I like tortilla soup, though. Chicken noodle gags me, for some reason.

I eat soup straight out of the can. Yes, even cream of mushroom.

I used to live on Kroger brand vegetarian vegetable soup; the Campbell's version isn't that great. And I'm muy pissed that I can't get Campbell's chicken noodle soup in this godforsaken country.

My favourite soups at the moment come in cartons or plastic containers, in the chiller at Sainsbury's. Sainsbury's did a wicked summer vegetable soup this summer, but -- for obvious reasons -- it's not available anymore. Their carrot and coriander soup is also lovely, second only to New Covent Garden Soup Company's carrot and coriander.

Campbells tomato soup and Ritz crackers or Clam chowder from Gilda's. James

I still like the creamy chicken flavor Raman noodles. It actually produces a decent broth. I'll eventually get sick of them, but it's a meal for twelve cents!

That's my lunch, every day! Those just-add-hot-water soup in a cups. Some of them are really good (Nile Spice and Fantastic), and some aren't. I also make soup from scratch at least twice a week for dinner. Clam Chowder, Beef Stew, Split Pea, Chicken & Spinach with Tortellini, Beef Macaroni. It's just too easy, and a good way to slip vegetables into my family's diet.

My daughter's favorite meal is Amy's Organic canned tomato soup. She'll ask for that whenever I let her choose what's for dinner. She eats it out of a mug, with goldfish crackers.

Gardanna, I call Ultra Slim, Ultra slime. Uh, I drink it all the time though

-- Anonymous, October 25, 2000

ultra slime--heh heh. My b-friend saw me drinking one of those once and made me learn how to make home-made smoothies. I like smoothies. I just can't drink 'em for dinner.

No. Yuk. I rarely eat prepared foods anymore. Since I became lactose intolerant, I had to give up most canned soups 'cause water just doesn't do it for me. I make a killer vegetarian minestrone. Really.

I really like Progresso's Black Bean soup and their Lentil soup is good too. I also like to eat Campbells Cream of Tomatoe with a tuna of grilled cheese sandwich. I like Cup-a-Noodles even though it's full of toxic chemicals! Soup is good on rainy days.

Campells makes this new chicken noodle soup sold in a jar. I like it, it tastes more homey and flavorful.

Mary Ellen, that chicken with Spinach and Tortellini soup sounds absolutely divine. Yummy. I don't eat a lot of canned soups as a rule but one of my all-time favourite comfort foods is Campbell's Tomato Soup with parmesan cheese.

I need to find President's choice- "Just Peanuts" Crunchy peanut butter. Can you help me locate this product. Please.

-- Anonymous, February 13, 2001

Hah.

My friend Joy told me that EAT in London does really good Senaglese peanut soup. For some reason that sounds too much like a dessert to me.

I had yummy organic borscht from Waitrose this evening, to which I am utterly addicted.

I never ate soup until I moved in with my boy, but now we eat a lot of Chunky Clam Chowder and Subway's Broccoli and Cheese. He loves ham and bean soup, but it has to be homemade and I've just not felt that ambitious in a long time.

Cambells Alphabet Soup is still my all time favorite.

Heinz Tomato Soup is the best in the world and although it's an American company you don't get the same soup in the States. Weird and sad, but I suppose it's back to the chocolate wax issue. I don't understand, do these companies think that Americans don't have the same taste as Europeans? Rotten buggers.

Heinz tomato soup is so nasty! Seriously, I read that Ricky Martin always buys 400 tins of it when he's here, and I do not get that at all. It tastes of the tin!

But Heinz just came out with soup in these plastic jugs that fit on the door shelf of your fridge, and they're vile as well, so I dunno what the real problem is. Campbells forevah.

Potato soup with bacon IS the best soup eveah! Miso runs a close second. I once had Max and Erma's chix tortilla soup and the jalepenos in it almost made me shit my pants in IKEA. The was the only bad soup experience i ever had.

Canned soup sucks. Nothing better than chili from Nicely's in Lee Vining when you've been hiking all over the Sierras and it didn't get over 10* and ...Chicken Noodle soup from Ruby's Cafe anytime, anywhere. James

Does anyone have a good recipe for tortilla soup?
