Besides mine, I mean. (If mine is one of your favorites.) Or is mine the only one you read?

I'm obsessed with them, like in a very Mrs.Kravitz kind of way. Really.

I also read a bunch of people I had never read before I went to Journalcon, because it wasn't until I met them in person that I realized they were cool. I met some real buttheads and didn't read them in the first place, but for the most part, every day I read:

Shelleyness
Bobofett
Pamie and Beth and Stee and Rob and Brad Pitt(and if you don't know their urls, um, Wow).
Jon-Jon Diaries
Headspace
When In Doubt, Use Parsley
Dysfunction Junction
Sharkbait
Duck-Shaped Pain
Walking Naked
Bob, A Journal
Molly Zero
Just Me

There's more, but these are my most favorite of the moment. And An American Boy.

For the past couple of years, I've read on a regular basis three online journals. Well, I had a fourth one, my first one really, a few years ago but the person writing it was just SO mean and nasty. Anyway, one of the three had a crash several months back and I haven't seen anything new there in forever. Then, just yeaterday, I read how my other steady journalist was breaking up with her longtime boyfriend and killing her journal at the same time. So now it's all offline, no archive or anything.

That leaves Gwen, which suits me just fine because she always was the bestest. :-) And Gwen's site never was just a journal site, anyway, there is far more to it.

Every once in a while I poke around some other journal sites, or I will follow a link from someone else's page which has nothing to do with journaling and end up exploring journal sites again. My conclusion is that 99.9% of them utterly suck. I swear to God, if I never again read an online journal that's written by someone whose depression permeates each and every single entry as far back as you can go or who's got a fucking whiny-ass attitude and constantly oozes complaints while putting down everyone and everything based out of some deep-seated bitterness and resentment that their reeking hypocrisy won't let them see, it will be too soon.

Yours is the only one I read. I looked at a few others once, but they didn't match up in quality. I don't think it's worth it unless the person is a good enough writer to make me think about things in a new way, and most people just aren't that good. Your writing always surprises me and then sort of inspires me to be more tough and honest with myself in my own life, and I haven't found anything else quite like it.

Gwen's, Pamie's, Stee's, Matthew's, Tara's, Jon-Jon's, Brad F'n Pitt's, Mike's and Robot Frank's do it for me, along with my unnamed, unlinked must-see trainwrecks.

Damn Jackie, first you won't gossip, and *then* you won't even give us any fun trainwreck stuff.

I'm pouting here, just so you know.

I think I'm just ashamed by the fact that I kind of like a couple of my trainwrecks. Sad but true.

I'm sorry I'm a dork and don't know how to make these into hyperlinks. But I like (in addition to Gwen of course)

the Daily Bleat at lileks.com

the rants of the Misanthropic Bitch(which haven't been coming lately) on http://bitch.shutdown.com

Brunching Shuttlecocks at brunching.com

and I must say I really enjoyed the archives on scrnwrt's nakedsometimes.com That was some funny stuff. Write more. Amuse me.

Will do, fruitbat. Two entries coming up this week.

I read Gwen, Pamie, Xeney, and Robot Frank regularly, and a lot of other people when I remember to/when someone links to them. I'm sure y'all already know the URLs.

I occassionally read perpetualbonde.com because she sometimes says something deeply revealing and depraved that causes me to laugh (because I can identify) and I sometimes read Walking Naked at keevey.com because she has this waifish look that makes you just want to cuddle her. Also, she can't hide the Irish-Catholic guilt trip shit my whole family is sickenly afflicted with. (If shit happens, I deserve it.) But Gwentown is the one I read the most. It has a loose, anything-goes kinda feel to it. It reminds me of walking into a dimly- lit bar in a strange town, where you're not sure what to expect. And because Gwenz has a low threshhold for obvious bullshit like I do and she always makes me laugh. And it's a nice group of people who post here. Or should I say they're bent in ways I can relate to. Yeah, that's more like it. The peeps at Gwentown don't mind being kidded. You read some of the forums at hissyfit and it's like falling into a pen full of junkyard dogs.

Um, lesse, there's Gwen, Pamie, Shelley, and that's about it for actual journals, unless Tomato Nation counts. TM feels more like a series of essays than journal entries, even if they are autobiographical. And I guess Nikol has a sporadic journal going on Disgruntled Housewife that I enjoy. I'm too lazy to make links, but I think all of these can be found on Gwen's links page. Oh, I almost forgot Dwannie's site (dwanollah.com). And scrnwrt's nakedsometimes.com. Fun schtuff, yo.
