Movies based on Pos stories and poems

greenspun.com : LUSENET : The Work of Edgar Allan Poe : One Thread

I need to find out if there is some kind of list out there with all the movies ever made that are based on Edgar Allan Poe's short stories and poems. I know there are a few, but I need something I can show to middle school English students. Please let me know if you can help. Thanks

there are a bunch out there that I know of. There are two versions of "the Masque of the Red Death" but both of them are inappropriate for middle school, as is the version of "The Pit and the Pendulum" that I have seen; however, there is a version of "Fall of the House of Usher" that was made for TV in the 1980s. It isn't very graphic, there is no nudity (unlike the two versions of "The Masque of the Red Death), and there is no bad language. In my area they carry that version at Family Video. It was produced in 1980. I'm not really sure by who. Hope that helps...a little.
