Views on Saturday.

I'm still a bit euphoric from Monday, but there's a niggle that it might have been the single swallow that 'doth not a summer make'.

Not saying we'll lose or owt, but I'd be over the moon if we played in the same style as we did against the smoggies rather than having to see the result as the consolation for the crappy football.

If Saturday is a rerun of Monday with a different cast, I could even start to see the smoggies game as a watershed.

Tempting fate, or what ?

I'm a lot more confident about Saturday than I usually am given last monday's performance....I share a the niggle that you're having though....we're playing well, Everton are struggling and have lots of injuries so it's a potential banana skin....

Still I'm confident we're gonna win.....

bloody hell Gav , now im friggin' worried .

Strangely enough it worries me when I'm confident about us beating someone :))

If we work hard enough we should beat them, that is my only real concern, because Everton have players like Gravesen who will run all day. Even Gazza put the effort in when I saw him play against Leicester.

Well I never. And for once I'M actually confident! Everton seem to be blowing hot and cold as always, but I reckon Big Walter's spent an awfy lorra dosh for little return. Next two Prem managers to lose their jobs are both called Smith, if u ask me.....

At the risk of incurring Gav's wrath for being negative :-))), I always worry when we play sides we SHOULD thrash: we seem to drop our game to a notch below their level. Furthermore, the lads haven't really played well at home all season. There has to be a chant for an opportunistic side in our losing and being 70 mills in debt, too. We really ought to win, though.

Luckily I don't think the lads will see Everton as the pushover game that Bradford ought to be.

I think we have to be prepared to be hot and cold for a while. Hansen wsa right that kids don't win things. Some of the best football we ever played was when Ossie's babes were on song. The problem was they just couldn't do it for 90 minutes at a go, never mind every week.

Dyer is still a kid (3 years younger than Beardsley when he first joined us), as is Hughes, and Domi. These three have been key to our good games, but we have to remember they're still learning how to be consistent.

Dyer was crap a few weeks ago yet sparkling on Monday. He'll eventually be mreo sparkling and less crap but he'll still have bad days. What we need is the Shearers, Barton, Lees, Speeds to lay the consistent foundations and carry them when they aren't performing. (Man U kids didn't win things Schmeicel, Bruce, Pallister, Keane and Cantona won the things, the kids were good enough to be in the teams but they weren't the stars like today)

I know what you all mean--they were so good Monday that because of previous frailties, they could let themselves down by overconfidence or by having an off-day.However I still think they should win but perhaps not as comfortably as Monday's performance would have us think. As I have said before I don't think we had played particularly well up to the point that we were On Top of the PL,but in the last two games we have really started to look the part. Now we need to play like that every game--but--thats easier said than done, and we must expect lapses until it becomes our norm. I was fortunate enough to be at the Man City game;saw the Boro' game live on tv and Glorybe the Everton match is also being shown out here in HK tonight--albeit it 2 hours late in what the tv people call "delayed live" ie.We get two matches one after the other from the PL--one live--one delayed live.Still beggars can't be choosers! Yes, we should get 3 points but I'm guessing it won't be easy! Howay the lads Fifties Fan
